I'm red-pilled in that I want and believe in a traditional relationship and marriage, did nun mode, am very happy with a captain-first mate plan, and understand that there are innate differences between men and women that lend to different strengths and weaknesses.

I have a boyfriend (hopefully soon, fiance) who is also red-pilled.

But he watches a lot of red pill content that is pretty fucking dumb.

The content he watches and listens to is deeply ahistorical and reductive.

Some glaring errors I have picked up just by hearing it from his phone:

  1. The myth that feminism took women outside of the home into the workforce: Poor women (esp third-world women and western black, brown, and asian women) have always worked outside of the home. For poor black women from the 1500s onwards, this was in the form of slavery (sexual or otherwise), and for poor women of other races including white women from the 6th or 7th centuries onwards, this was in the form of peasant labour, selling sex, bringing farmed goods to market, and/or small artisanship (weaving, textiles, crafts, etc.). Then during the Industrial Revolution in 1790, women were pulled specifically into factories and machine operations. This wasn't because of feminism, this is because the economy and technology changed and needed children and women to fill the gap. Later, in the 20th century during both WWI and WWII, women were pulled again into the workforce to support the war effort and to fill the gap in the workforce caused by men leaving the country to go to war. It is literally only rich white women in the 19th and 20th centuries who fought for the right to work and voluntarily left home. Poor women have been forced to work for centuries and frankly have fucking hated it and would rather be at home and taken care of by a man.
  2. The myth that western women live life on "easy mode" so feminism is not necessary: Yes western women have equal rights under the law. And also, the law is garbage and the government is garbage. Disabled women have the right not to be raped by caregivers, but women with disabilities are four times more likely to have experienced a sexual assault than women without disabilities. So great they have the right to not be raped, but they still get raped so why does it matter what rights they have? Should those women not be protected because it's written on some piece of paper in some government hall? I think disabled women absolutely deserve to not get raped, and if you don't, you've got bigger problems than anyone can solve for you. And this is just one strata of western women whose lives are fucked despite the law saying they have "rights."
  3. The myth that all forms of women's liberation are the same: Tied to the above point, third world women experience life differently than first world women, poor women experience life differently than rich women, black women experience life differently than white women, muslim (and especially hijab-wearing) women experience life differently than non-muslim women, girl children experience life differently than grown women. How can we say that all of their experiences of the issues that affect them are the same? How can we say that women and girls who legitimately suffer and are seeking restitution and retribution and call that work feminism are doing the same things that rich white first-world non-disabled women are doing? It doesn't make sense, and it doesn't make sense to label all of these activities "feminism" and then say that "feminism" has caused all of these social evils. Because the movement to rescue girls under 12 from sexual slavery in India didn't cause some weird social change that denies men their rights -- it literally just rescues children from slavery. And those women call that work feminism.
  4. The myth that monogamy for men was implemented by feminism: Number one, both polygyny and polyandry still exist AND they exist in places with strong feminist movements. This is not some bygone era. If you want 200 wives, literally move to a Nigerian village and run it -- simple. And if a women wants 200 husbands, literally move to a Tibetan village and run it -- stop complaining. This is a no-brainer. AND to top it all off, if you work remotely, your western salary means you can live like a royal and house all your spouses and kids. Win-win.

I could literally go on, but I don't need to because so much of this is actually just statistics, history, science, and facts.

My problem is: I am not interested in correcting a man or shaping his world views like that. I'm not his mother, it's not my job.

But I hear this content drivel day in and day out and it makes me respect my man less because it means he's dumb enough to believe it because these content creators use flashy visuals or good editing or speak with confidence.

I want to marry this man because he's accomplished, caring, successful, from the same community and religion, will take care of me and my children, the sex is fantastic, and he makes me feel incredibly desirable and sexy. All of these things I can absolutely run long-term.

But if I am losing respect for him, does that mean it's a bad idea? Should I instead look for a man who is maybe slightly less accomplished and wealthy who can maybe provide a fraction of what this man can, but I know I'll respect him because he's intelligent enough to read a book?

Help -- I'm feeling incredibly torn about this.
