Good thing about NYC is you can schedule dates at a bar 3 minutes from your place. I don't even leave my apartment until they say they're there or walking up lol

I just continue on with plans, with or without her. I don't care for a woman who can't do something basic like keep time or let me know if she's going to be late, especially if she already is late.

I always text or write, usually saying "Hey I'm really looking forward to having some time with you later today." just to make sure everything is still on. But also it does show that I'm excited and looking forward to seeing them. Simple and easy.

No, it's up to them if they want to reschedule. If they cancel, they reschedule. Thats common courtesy. A lot of women seem to be missing that trait.

i usually text 'leaving now, see you soon' a half hour before i actually leave lol if i dont get a response i do a 'running late' text and delay leaving for another half hour. still no response; i dont leave at all lol

This actually works for girls you’re unsure about. I’ve used this technique a few times. I usually wait till about 15-20 mins before the date. This also helps you avoid wasting your time waiting for the girl as if she responds she will be there already. I don’t leave my house until I get an ‘ok no problem’ response. Some girls will message if it’s still on hours before if they’re super super interested. I like these ones.

My personal favorite method is to just not text her at all on the day of the date. I'm not going open the door for her to flake, if she wants to flake she can reach out. If she stands me up, then I go cold approach instead. Easy.

If dating was logical, then people would take things as seriously as an interview. You set a time and a place and you're expected to show up, no one's going to check up on you beforehand.

But dating is not logical. There are emotions involved and every decision/indecision has an effect. I've set dates up days in advance with location and time set to a T that were agreed upon enthusiastically only to have silence when I try to confirm them because of stupid things such as not texting at all the day before.

You would think that we're all adults and that we're mature enough to communicate if we're going to show up to a premade plan or not, but that's not reality, so doing things like the confirmation text are necessary. I have everything to gain and nothing to lose. If the girl is excited to see me, she'll reassure that point and we'll have a good time. If not, she filters herself out and I get peace of mind that I'm not going to waste any more time on her.

The question is why would you assume or need to check a person you allow in your life is going to flake or cancel. Not to be naive, it does happen but doing little things to check if a date is still on schedule is low quality expectation. These little things seem like smooth moves but it's intermediate level covert neediness.

Maybe I just get with better/polite people. If I get cancelled on it’s usually a day or more in advance and then a reset date is offered. With my girl I know she is chronically a half hour to 45 minutes behind whatever she tells me so I factor that into when I am picking her up or meeting her somewhere.

And I don’t play this kind of game. If a date is set, I have the expectation that it is happening if I haven’t received any other type of communication. It’s that simple.

Not sure who you all are going out with but I’d sift through and get rid of flaky BEFORE you set a date.

You will most likely know whether she’s going to turn up or not because if you guys have been texting on the day, it’s very likely if she’s on the way she will say to you. This has been the case with every date I’ve been on. Don’t think I’ve ever been stood up bc I would never make date plans and just turn up to the place without some sort of idea about what’s going on
