I don't know about you but I hate feeling like I'm being told what to do or that someone is trying to influence/persuade me without my knowing. When I get around other alpha/natural leaders (salesmen too, even when they aren't selling) they annoy the fuck out of me because I get a feeling like they are being a really sly attention whore. Other people around me don't react as strongly as I do (some don't even get what I'm talking about but others see it when I bring it to their attention), but it really just makes me want to tell them to stop. I have a strong aversion to being led and when I sense people are trying to act like they're the leader when they haven't done anything to qualify themselves to that position I just want to tell them they aren't the leader of shit and to sit down. This I'm honestly fine with but the problem is I hate being an alpha leader myself because I see it as annoying and infringing on others.

I could use some help. I know this mindset is getting me nowhere but I can't shake it. I guess I'm just looking for someone to point out why this thought process is irrational so when it happens again I can tell myself it's me being silly. My experiences with most of the guys people consider alpha is negative mostly because I'm a very independent person and I don't have any desire to be around someone who feels like the leader of me. I just don't like those types of people because I feel like they are trying to control others subtly. I guess what I want to know is how I can curb this feeling and kind of adopt an attitude that's similar without feeling like I've totally sold out a huge piece of my personality.
