Every time a guy has said something like that to me in response to me mentioning my bf, I think they're instantly scummy, and won't even do them the favor of introducing them to my hot single friends. JS.

A good response would be something like, "another man with excellent taste! Too bad." Or better yet, just keep talking about something else. A few times when a guy chats me up while I'm dating someone, but I still think he is cool, I've texted my single girl friends to come to the bar or wherever we are. They've done it for me too. Genuine guys are awesome. Lines are not.

There was post here the other day. A girl called some guy she was dating for a week her "boyfriend".

Asking more questions about this "boyfriend" is totally fair play in my opinion. Continuing to aggressively flirt with a girl who lives with the guy she's dated for two years is scummy. Doing the same with a girl who just started seeing someone or who is in a weird place with a long distance bf is a different story.

Uggggggh. I HATE THIS.

Reasons:

1) If she has a boyfriend, you should already be walking out the door. Why are you wasting your time trying to fuck a girl with a boyfriend? What's the point of this line? What are you trying to accomplish?

2) You should have already asked her if she was single at the beginning of the conversation, and not let her spring it on you after you've invested a bunch of time talking to her.

3) If the girl is seriously trying to tell you she has a boyfriend and/or is not interested, you just look like a fucking stupid clown making a joke out of it. Girls hate guys that are always trying to be funny, especially when they are trying to be serious.

4) "That's okay, I'm not the jealous type" is not an attractive thing to say. Even though you are joking, you are basically saying "I'm ok being your number 2." Every girl has been a #2 in their life and it FUCKING SUCKS. It hurts like hell, so you saying that you don't mind be a #2 shows that you have no spine or dignity whatsoever. Girls want guys that are emotionally stronger than them, not vice-versa.

5) Saying ""That's okay, I'm not the jealous type" also says "Hey I just want to fuck you, I'm not interested in a relationship." Even though that may be true, you NEVER EXPLICITLY SAY ANYTHING THAT IMPLIES SHE IS JUST A FUCK TOY. Even if the most casual of relationships, the girl still has to feel like there is a "relationship."

6) "I have a boyfriend" is a statement expressing power over you. She is basically saying "Hey I know you want me, but you can't have me because there is somebody better in my life." You saying "that's ok" is bowing down to her power game. You've basically fucked yourself. If you wanted to respond at all I would say "Hey I was just talking to you platonically!"

The way to tell how she wants you to take it is the way she says it. Body language - turned towards you and open or turned away? facial expressions - smiling or frowning? Tone of voice - light and sing song or shrill?

I don't know why people think "I have a boyfriend" is a shit test. It's not. A girl would not say that she has a boyfriend unless she actually has one, or she is completely not interested in you. Why? Because if it was a shit test and you did manage to seduce her, no girl of any worth wants to be known as the one who cheats on their boyfriend, even if he is imaginary. If a girl tells me this line, I friendzone her right there and then. That doesn't mean I abandon the interaction, but I genuinely try and be friends with her. There are so many benefits to having hot female friends. And if she was lying but manages to become attracted to you later, she'll usually fess up to it.

On another note, I hate the idea that is floating around seddit that it's okay to try to get girls to cheat on their boyfriends. Why can't you just leave people in relationships alone? There are millions of single girls, why do you have to attempt to fuck up some unsuspecting guy's life?

I of course wouldn't recommend saying this with any serious context (I'd also follow up with an apology, kind gesture, or a sincere explanation expressing your respect for her relationship). Personally, I would use that as a joke and a way to walk away with a smile still on my face.
