Ok... so my Ex threatened divorce in June/23. I guess she finally filed in Sept/23. I asked her if we were acknowledging our anniversary in October or if it was just another day? She replied "It's just another day." Ok.

I got served the next day after our anniversary in the mail. I smiled and kissed her on the forehead and gave her a hug. I said "Honey you didn't forget! Thank you for the anniversary present, even if it did come a day late."

The look I got was priceless.

Wife asked for a divorce almost 2 weeks ago now. Our anniversary is in 11 days. If I had to put money on it... she wont even mention is. As "civil" as things have been inside our house... she dosent even say goodnight. so I would find it hard to believe she will say or do anything regarding our anniversary. Heck last year she told me she remembered but then forgot on the day... She remembers her parents anniversary... I dont know how you could remember your parents but not your own.

It seems like a moot point to say or do anything about it at this point right? What good is celebrating your lasting time together when they gave you an experation date?it

24 year anniversary was last month and I didn’t say shit. She had it on the family calendar for all to see. Not my problem anymore.

On what would have been our 10th last month, I booked a day trip to where we usually spent a week or more every year with our family. I spent a bit of time there with my thoughts, memories, and more tears than I could express.

It was a cleansing of sorts to help try and put it all behind me.

I got a lengthy shit-o-gram on what would have been our 20th anniversary; however, I didn't read more than three lines in before deleting it. In fact, she so desperately wanted me to receive it that she sent it from her school Outlook account, knowing I had blocked her Yahoo address and phone number. During the process, I made no acknowledgement of any significant days, holidays or otherwise. I had gone silent three months prior, and because she would rather have had negative attention than no attention, she was losing what was left of her mind. The 'gray rock' tactic is very effective when employed and maintained.

Just over two months later, a triple witching day arrived in which the divorce was finalized, closing documents for the sale of the marital home were signed, sealed, and delivered, and the one-year anniversary of her mother's death aligned in one 24-hour period. Together with another AP heading for the exit, I believe that day was the catalyst for the complete unraveling of her (already unstable at times) mental health.

My 20th anniversary passed about a month before my divorce was final. As I recall, it was jokingly acknowledged by both of us.

I probably wished her a happy birthday or Mother’s Day here and there, but it was never a priority, and definitely not consistent. If she had wished me a HBD or Father’s Day, ever, I may have made it more of a point to reciprocate.

I don’t hate her. I still care for her wellbeing. We’re both flawed humans.

My divorce was finalized ON my 4th wedding anniversary. I did not mention it or really say anything to my ex-wife at all when we were in court that day.

While my divorce was still in process I went camping by myself on what would have been our 15th.

I had a great time and didn’t have to put up with any of her BS.

Now that’s its final, that date comes and goes with barely a passing thought

What anniversary ? The divorce means that day is just another day , trust me do not go for the gold , do not pass go etc.

Honestly I’m in a different boat than the rest of y’all. But in my opinion, count your loses and move on. My soon to be ex is listing the house for sale on our anniversary. Message received.

No dude. Come on. What kind of answer are you looking for with that question any way - do or dont and it doesn't matter a damn either way as it's so insignificant. If you do she won't care. If you dont she wont care.
