Mandatory DNA test at birth?

I'm a female lurker & I hope my soon to be ex-husband sees this post. He used a dna test as a way to harass and bully me. Had to blindside him at court and say that he disputed paternity, and here we are 4 months later and still won't get it done. I even paid for a full blood siblings test since he wouldn't do anything. MEN, WHY ARE YALL LIKE THIS!? I gave and did every single thing this man wanted for 20 years.. how do you just not participate?

No need to test mom. It should be evident who the mom is. Only father needs testing. Should be optional.

All I know is there's lots of stories on the web of paternity fraud. And given the number of health issues such as kidney transplant where genetic relationship really matters. It's more than worthwhile to check paternity at birth.

The objections of women's groups tells me the leaders of these groups have something to hide, that is more important to them than their children's health.

Mandatory? I'll stop short of this. I don't think it should be required by law in all cases.

Customary and routine for all births? Sure. Make it an "opt out" that requires the consent of both parents for the opt out. If only one doesn't gove consent, it goes ahead until both consent.

I can see possibility for both purported parents to opt out and I want to give space for those cases. But, if the mother says no and the reported father doesn't say no, I can see this being useful knowledge.

Cuckholding is nothing new and has been prevalent since the beginning of time.

Having said that I don't agree with mandatory testing. I believe in freedom. I don't want more freedoms to be taken away by government.

Mother rnature had this all figured out, The newborn always looks more like the father in the beginning. If your new child does not look like you then you know what's up and it is then your choice on how you proceed.

False paternity rates are certainly not around 10-30%. It's somewhere around 1-3%. Those high rates are from clinics and situations where people suspect infidelity and do the test because of that. Randomized tests have it at low single digits.

I'd like to hear an argument why it's not already done by default. I mean they require vaccines, draft, fingerprints, etc.

Seriously any reason why it wouldn’t be more beneficial than anything negative?

Also I want to add: prenup agreements ranging from simple to complex need to be more affordable and required by law for marriage.

I also think that there should be free marriage counseling especially if there is kids involved but thats getting a little side tracked. The dna test and prenup being required would make me happy enough and would help avoid a lot of issues.

It would also help a lot to understand if there are any issues for hereditary health problems.

Every person should know where they came from and who they created. As long as it's done with sensitivity and transparency, I can't see why not?
