Yes, because I’m married. That’s a sign to cut contact completely, as he was disrespectful towards my husband and our relationship.

If I was single, it depends on how close we were. If it’s a good long-term friend, I could try to talk it through and figure it out whether we could keep being friends or now. If it wasn’t a close friend, I’d recuse contact with them and would meet with them only in a group setting. It’s not that there’s a particular issue with it, but I’m not comfortable hanging out with guys who clearly have unrequested sexual/romantic feelings for me.

Really depends on how he approaches it…and how he acts after. And it will definitely strain the relationship for awhile and make it awkward. Not completely unsalvageable but will require work to salvage

As a married woman now, though, I’d end the friendship and cut all contact with him, forever and completely. Asking me while single would have possibly been forgivable even if it bothered me. But asking me while married would show he really does not care about my boundaries and openly disrespects my marriage.

I have had this scenario happen to me multiple times. I tried to remain friends but in the end they all tried to initiate a romantic relationship again even after I told them that I have zero interest which always led to the end of a friendship because the guys get mad and start turning verbally abuse.

No issues with it, I would be ok with it. I would probably be awkward as fuck for a while because that doesn’t happen to me, and I wouldn’t know quite how act after. But in time, things would go back to normal.

It absolutely depends on context. Am I already in a relationship? Then probably not, because hitting on a married or partnered person is definitely crossing a boundary.

Am I single? Well, if the guy is casually shooting his shot and moves on with other romantic interests then we are fine. I’ll even be his wingman. I’ve been in this situation and have even become friendly with the new girlfriend

Did he make it weird by professing a deep and abiding love? Is he is still hanging on because he hopes I’ll change my mind, I’d probably just step away. Those guys usually self delete from being friends when they do find a girlfriend anyway.

Eh, I think it changes the dynamic of the relationship a bit. I keep friends and sex separate, so if I found out that a friend wanted to sleep with me it would feel a bit odd. Not impossible to get past by any means but it would mean that person doesn't belong in the friendship only "folder" anymore so I'd feel a bit weird around them for a while.

If I wasn't in a relationship, I'd have trouble being vulnerable with him knowing he saw me in that light, so I would keep my distance until he was either in a relationship or enough time had passed that he didn't think of me that way.
