Word of the wise; you're only 17. You have absolutely no clue what the world is actually like once you get out there. You're still just a kid. The vast, vast, vast majority of adults know red pill ideology is total bullshit, and you're exactly the target audience for their grift; kids who don't have any experience out in the world, making you the perfect target for them to fill your head full of lies in order to profit off of you.

If red pill ideology worked, men who fall for it would be successful with women. They aren't. Women hate men that perpetuate red pill ideology because it makes them abusive, distant, and neglectful. Don't fall for that trap. You're setting yourself up for failure.

Kate Winslet aparently loves her stay at home husband, he is dislexic, so I think that affects the kinds of work he can do, but she does nothing but gush about the guy. and they both look content together. It doesn't look like one is slowly sucking the energy out of the other, they both look happy.

I don't know any husbands who are stay at home for decades, but I do know some of them who are for years. I have relatives who migrated to wealthier countries and the wives have more in-demand jobs like nursing or caregiving. So while the wife works under a special visa, the husband stays home with the kids until they get residency/citizenship.

Who stays at home and who works are not a permanent arrangements that define the person in a relationship. Life can have many possibilities and couples adjust for the best.

She still makes more than me and always will, because she is in a very high end career and I am not.

We have been together 16 years and still going strong.

Me! Other than a couple hundred dollars over the last couple of years, I’ve made literally all of our household’s income. I tend to feel stir crazy and unfulfilled if I can’t work, I’m worse at keeping up with chores than he is, and he wanted to train in an art that still probably won’t make him much money when it comes to fruition. We’re short on money with only one income, but I’m honestly super happy this way. It lets both of us dive headfirst into our passions, lets me come home to a clean house, and lets him have some freedom from the previous career that wasn’t feasible for him long term. Gender is literally utterly irrelevant there lol. I want to be the breadwinner and he wants to maintain the home.

Ultimately, it’s what works for us, and strangers making up imaginary rules and statistics on the internet won’t change our needs.

A woman in my office is the sole breadwinner. She and her husband make it work (she's been working over 20 years).

She never lost respect for him and enjoys working.

However, society tells him he should work and she says now he has fallen into the redpill mindset and it's messing with his outlook (this is third hand perspective, sorry.) As in midlife crisis and all.

Sometimes it's not the woman making the demands, it's the man's own belief.

(Also, the TikTok/Insta women who insist a man MUST be sole provider... That is their opinion. They don't speak for all women. I know a lot of redpill men point to them to prove AWALT, but it's not true for all.)

I have several friends who took turns being the "house spouse" as they build each other up. One gets a master's degree, then the other gets a master's degree, etc. And even then, no one was in charge of 100% of the chores all the time. They just had more time during the day outside of school, so they did more with the time they had. And support means time to rest and time to play, so if one of them needed time outside the house as a break, they figured it out.

They continue to build each other up. It isn't always an all or nothing thing, nothing is forever. You tackle things together and make the team stronger.

I don't quite fit the bill, but you might be interested in hearing this regardless: My boyfriend and I are long-distance (until February, anyway), but when he's here, he's the one who cooks and does household stuff like that. I currently work full-time, while he's looking for a job. I'll likely be making more money than him even when he does find work, and I don't give a shit. (My ideal scenario involves us neither of us working full-time, but I don't know how feasible that will be.)

I greatly dislike full-time work, but I'm useless at housework, and if we could make it happen, I'd be very happy for my boyfriend to be a stay-at-home cat dad. I wouldn't respect him less or whatever bullshit the red pill teaches. I want him to have some kind of income for now just because you need money to live, but I don't care about him working for its own sake.

My husband doesn't work and can't work (he's disabled), I love him very much and we've been together more than 15 years. He couldn't work even before I met him. I've worked full-time, part-time, or been on disability payments through our relationship and love him no matter what our finances are like.

Childcare costs are so high these days that a few of my friends did the math and realized it would cost more for both of them to work while paying for daycare. Like they'd actually be in the hole financially if someone didn't stay home. I know 2 stay at home dads and it's a great and equitable balance for their families. The wives absolutely do love it.

I've also seen friends go through losing jobs or having health issues, where the wife has had to become the primary breadwinner and it works out the best for everyone. Relationships should be about teamwork.

I created an account just to comment. I’ve been with my husband for five years. He works a good job, while I work in a high-powered career. We both want and are working towards him being a stay at home dad. There are three key considerations here.

It’s hard to live comfortably today without a dual income household. For either the man or woman to be the sole provider while supporting a family, the financial realities are the biggest constraint. I mention this because a lot of young people fantasize about gender roles, while ignoring pragmatic realities. The more likely situation is meeting someone in university and figuring it out together instead, instead of building your identity around being a provider (or not) so early on.
You won’t see many people like me and my husband publicly advertizing this dynamic because we get shamed for it. The fact that I make much more than my partner causes friends and family in his life to shame him or be very jealous that he gets to “relax”, since he’s going against gender norms. Luckily for me, he has good self esteem and is not insecure, so we lay low and focus on our happiness. It’s actually more common than people think as you grow older, but it’s not a conversation you have on the first date, because both men and women don’t want to attract the wrong type of people. For a man, you also need to make sure you can really trust the woman with your emotions and desires. This only comes with experience, not just from dating, but also your ability to build close relationships with other people in your life.
I think your worry about whether a stay-at-home man could be loved, revolves around the false belief that men are only worth loving for their provider status. This is false and every woman is different. For example, my husband provides me with emotional support, is a beacon of optimism, and I seek his opinion on life decisions because he often has a unique perspective. Other women might value different things.

I’m also ex redpill (the female version) and honestly I mean it when I say, one good experience can change your life, just like one bad experience can change your life. It’s important that you take the time to know who you are, and take the time to meet the correct woman who is compatible with you and loves you for who you are.

When I was in my mid 20s, I was doing night shift grunt warehouse work while living with my parents. I still had women interested in me who had cars, corporate jobs and flats. Some people want to audit your financial status before dating you, yes but the majority probably don’t.

If a woman wants a dude who earns more than her, then no she won’t want a stay at home husband. Similarly if you really don’t want to be one, you aren’t forced to do it.

I live in sweden and both parents get combined 18 months parental leave when a baby is born. So literally every dad in sweden has been a stay at home parent for 6 to 12 months, even more if there's multiple kids. So yeah, half the adult population here lol. It's so normalised
