Hello everybody. I’m 10 months into a separation that’s headed straight to divorce as soon as the one year waiting period is completed. Something I’ve been thinking about over the last 10 months is how drastically my STBXW has changed both relationally and personality wise. When she asked for a divorce, she made it clear. She could not wait to get it filed as soon as possible and she’s never waivered from that. It was like a switch turned over that day. One week before we were still choosing each other, still in this marriage, still had some love and care. Now we have none of that. I don’t see my wife in the person that I’m divorcing right now. She’s emotionally dead, contemptuous, treats me like a managed resource, has told me the marriage was the thing she needed to escape to find herself, barely converses with me other than to tell me how I have affected her life. I know she has found another man which she is lying to me about and using deception around it to manipulate me to outside the custody schedule childcare so she can rendezvous with him. She’s just become the worst and I don’t know why. She’s like a stranger now to me. So just wanting to get everybody’s take. When you got divorced did they change on you who they were during the process? What do you think was running in the background? Is this who they actually were at their core and it was just hidden or did they change because of the circumstances? After divorce, were you able to build at least a respectful relationship? I have two kids so I’m going to have to maintain some form of a at least civil coparenting relationship. If I didn’t have the kids, I wouldn’t speak to her ever again to be honest as she somebody, I don’t see is a friend based on the way they’ve treated me.
