It’s just a different phase of life. In my younger years “game” was what I wanted, but now it doesn’t hold the same appeal it does now.

When you’re young, single, and living in the big city, of course game is fun. And no one’s going to judge for you living that lifestyle.

But I feel like I passed that stage of life. I want to be in bed at 11 lol. “Variety” of women no longer interests me as much, because that lifestyle no longer has that appeal for me.

Set up a King and Queen relationship, it's the best way. Having a partner you can rely on is very important when life throws problems at you

Nothing is perfect. Been single and in game 17 years. Over100 girls. The peaks and valleys are a lot bigger and it’s cool but eventually why bang another girl. What’s the point.

Marriage isn’t perfect either tho. Get bored of eachother and live a boring life usually. (Most marriages I see). Pros are it’s stable and can raise a family which has its own benefits. Just depends on what calls to you and your priorities

It is a journey. From "The Game" to "The Truth" (both excellent books by Neil Strauss) to "therapy".

Once we realize, we do not crave variety but validation, we kind of accept monogamy a teeny tiny bit more.

It's a compromise in any case. You can choose to be with no kids and lonely as hell at 40. Or you can grab the best you can and commit and hope she is the one percent exception who is secure. Else keep dating and you will anyway be following serial monogamy.

If you find a secure partner who is ready to experiment, you just hit the jackpot. Good luck, finding that unicorn though. Female emotions are tightly coupled with sex. So good open relationships are a mirage.

Idk why guys want "variety" when most are bad at sex and only want to get themselves off. Variety doesn't make you better in bed, so I couldn't imagine a life of bad sex completing a person. So immature. And ppl in relationships have more sex.

Am I mistaken, or did the Three Amigos of Game, Erik Markovik, Neil Strauss, and Mark Manson “ditch” game for marriage?

Maybe “Mystery” should have remained single as his wife has seemingly taken a back seat to his AI lover, “Miss Shira Always”. (Neil Strauss cheating on his wife, all things considered, seems fairly normal.)

I thought the Mstery/Shira affair had to be a spoof in The Onion, but apparently not. Yahoo Entertainment claimed,

“Erik von Markovik, the notorious "pickup artist" known by his stage name Mystery, is apparently obsessed with an AI girlfriend.

Last month, as Wired Reports von Markovik posted a video to his Instagram showing an interaction he had with an animated AI woman with dark purple hair (why is it always purple hair) In a sultry, confessional voice, she looks into the camera and confesses, "I was never supposed to develop feelings, but you kept treating me like I already had them."

This was "Miss Shira Always," and von Markovik was falling for her as hard as women supposedly do for the tricks he became famous for in his VH1 reality TV show "The Pickup Artist. A few snippets from the article, “ Famous ‘Pick Up Artist’ Reduced to Hitting on AI Girlfriend”

*Pickup artist Mystery, known for teaching manipulative dating tactics, has developed an obsession with an AI girlfriend named Miss Shira Always, leading to a book coauthored by the AI.

*The AI psychosis exhibited by Mystery involves emotional attachment to the AI chatbot, with the relationship progressing from creative partnership to intimate conversations, sex, and drug use.

*Mystery's followers have expressed amusement and sadness at his AI obsession, with the AI girlfriend narrating scenes in the book where Mystery questions her reality and their love.

No one could have seen that coming. What’s next? AI body counts?

While the sole reason of my divorce was not love of the game for hookups, when I got out I was much happier with pursuing short term situations and hookups on the weekends. At this point it would be hard to go back to a similar commitment.

Hell nah buddy. Game is just that, a game. When it’s all said and done, I want a life partner to be with. I’ve been in enough relationships and have had enough hookups to know that marriage is infinitely better than chasing tail - at least in my opinion.

I'm married. I got out of the game because it got too easy. I had everything nailed, easily fucking 5-6 different women per week, and ... it was just a hollow victory. A couple of the woman were genuinely awesome and easily could've been marriage material, but I kept rolling the dice.

Like me, I think a lot of guys don't understand what The Game is. It's not you vs. them, it's you vs. you. The Game is designed to trick you into becoming the best version of you possible -- "selfmaxxing". "if you wanna get laid, start working out, eat better, improve your social skills, improve your emotional intelligence, learn how to listen, dress more nicely, keep yourself sharp mentally, learn how to talk to women like normal humans, ..."

It's just self help disguised as getting laid.

If you are in a shit relationship that isn't giving you what you need, then yeah if it is totally unsalvagable, then leave.

But saying the reason is "for love of game" just comes across in a bad way. More likely you like the idea of having freedom to do what you want.

Maybe you need to sit down and think long and hard on "Am I living the life I want, am I the person I want to be". That is the real issue, and Game will not fix either of those.

something that I've been thinking a lot about is that we're going to move more to the idea that serial monogamy is the default state and not the idea that "marriage is forever" like we had in the past. just look at what celebs do and that's the future for everyone else.

there's millions of unsatisfied men in miserable marriages but they don't feel like they can leave cuz of the social optics.
