I think the first couple of chapters then chapter 11-12 were pretty helpful. The book got very tedious in-between.

This book is not something you're going to sit down and just read. You read some, reflect some, absorb then read some more. You are not going to sit down and read this thing in one sitting.

That being said, it is very academic and one dry ass motherfucker.

Quite a few of the books from that era are rather dry reads that packed more information into its pages than the average human could absorb when reading it. How To Win Friends and Influence People is a similar story.

Read it a chapter at a time, spend a week testing and implementing it. If it's still not sinking in, repeat. If you aren't really getting it still, just move on and come back to it later. You'll likely find value in repeating the process after you finish the book or 6 months later, the context and experience will bring out meaning you didn't see before.

Another alternative is to do a quick skim of the chapter, then read it in depth, then read it at a quicker pace. It's 3 readings, but you'll grasp the material a lot better.

This isn't some test you're studying for and just need the highlights. If your attention span really and truly handicaps you, then just read the chapters about relationships and skim the rest. But honestly, dude, your username says it all. RP is a risk, its hard, its tough, it challenges you. Rise up to the challenge. Overcome your apparently juvenile attention span. Work your brain like a muscle. Achieve endurance.

If I said I'm looking to get ripped, but then asked for a bar that looks like 45lbs but actually weighed 20lbs, do you think I'd ever reach my goals? The solution is to take baby steps, not cheat the system altogether.

Also, if you want a softer response, post over in /r/askmrp. Otherwise grow a thicker skin.

This one comes up so often it really should be in the FAQ.

RP is a fairly complete praxeology covering human relationships, particularly inter-gender relationships. It is big, it is hairy, it is complicated. It is basically a female yeti on her period.

It is everything your dad should have taught you from the age of about 7 or 8 onward. For 90% of the men in here, he didn't. (The other 10% he did, but they forgot most of it. It doesn't sound like you're one of them).

There are no shortcuts, no easy rides. You want to be a better man? You want to sort out your marriage? Or if you can't, be in the strongest position possible to move on? You got to do the work.

WISNIFG is such a disappointing RP book. I'm almost finished it and I can't see a single thing I can use to trick my wife into letting me have anal. He's got a dialogue breakdown for every other god damn situation but there is no script for when Timmy wanted to trick Tammy into doing anal sex. Vote for sidebar removal.

Empathy, but, not sympathy. WISIFG is why I haven't posted much here. I've started 10 times. Made it 1/2 through this week. It goes faster in the middle and when you start seeing the patterns.
