Women are pickier about everything about their partner compared to men, except perhaps for frequency that one's partner desire sex.

Women usually have an image in their minds of an ideal partner. Since they are the ones who bear potential offspring do most of the caretaking of that child, it's in their interest to feel like their partner is their genetic ideal.

The trade-off for older men is, while such a man may have more resources to provide for offspring, his genetic material is more likely to be faulty due to age. It's why young men don't usually prefer older women as much as younger ones, themselves.

Most studies suggest that in dating trends, both men and women tend to mostly date/marry people within a few years of their own age. I wouldn't say a man or a woman was picky for having an age range, tho.

You're the one that has to date your partner, I'd hope you weren't dating someone who's age was acceptable to you.

On the post body it can also be observed womens age range tolerance widens as they age too. I don't know if this is hotness or utility based, it might also be in how we perceive age - a middle aged person to a 20YO might as well have the zimmer frame out. While when you get older, well it doesn't really seem old and young people look very juvenile.

Saying that it seems like women dating younger men is on the increase (or the rise of the cougars?). Some of this may be more pushed along by social expectations than just biology. It wouldn't surprise me if the whole thing eventually levels out in the west on the age gap stuff given enough time and liberty of the SMP.

It also seems men who date younger women are happier than if it were the opposite...

And women who date younger men are happier than if it were the opposite....

It's pretty interesting they both trend in the same way.

IMO, its all a bit up changeable at the moment.

Nope. They’re just applauded for going outside of their age range more... a MILF is applauded for bagging a 20-something. A guy doing that is “creepy”... guys spend way more time in jail for underage sex than women to cuz “guys ALWAYS want sex”....

Personally, I cannot bring myself to date someone who is more than 4 years younger because my own experience tells me that they’re not ready to settle down and would rather have quantifiable attention than quality attention. You do you girl I’m just not interested.

That’s bc men will screw anything. Also when there are less options you tend to have less standards. Men usually prefer women who are younger, to the point where it is creepy af. There are many stories of girls in middle school being stalked and followed by grandpa type dudes if you don’t believe me. Seen it firsthand too. Women are pickier because men aren’t as “put together” when they are young. It’s rare to find a mature guy so the pickings are pretty slim. No sane woman wants to date a failed art major whose still “figuring himself out” it doesn’t scream dependent and it’s bad for offspring too. Nobody wants a flaky father. Blame evolution, if you want but it is how it is whether you like it or not.

Women tend to just not date what they consider to be immature. I have no issue dating someone younger than me provided he's mature.

I have one friend that insists on an older guy but she's considered odd for it among the friend group.

If I’m dating for marriage material, which I am, my age cap is ~32. If I’m casually dating, which I’ll consider if I don’t remarry before I’m 40, I don’t care about her age. But since I’m marriage minded, age is a hard filter any time I search/swipe.

In the space of 10 years, women marrying younger men increased from 14.37 percent in 2000, to 40.13 percent in 2010 in China. Honestly as a woman this surprised me. I’ve always admired handsome young guys but never had a desire to date one in the least. But there you have it. Define „older“? Since I’m ~25 it’s way easier to get 18-20 year olds. And I swear that was way harder 5 years ago. Ironically now I don’t want 99% of this girls anymore, but my point still stands.

So are they pickier? Might be. But it depends heavily on your definition of old/young.

I did an experiment on this where I catfished with a hot 25 year old man and set my age preferences for 40-60 years old (I have all the proof of messages saved on my computer).

Women generally didn't care about his age. He got plenty of messages looking for dates and/or sex from women in their 40's and 50's. The age thing is usually an excuse because they don't find you attractive. With the right man, many of them are more than willing to date younger. As young as half their age or even younger.

Women want the most attractive guy they can find. Age has little to do with it. With online apps hot young guys are readily available. Since all women want to fuck the same small pool of guys they're unlikely to be sexually inexperienced.

Yes. Women's age standard is generally something like 0 to 4 year older.

Age seem to have a direct influence in how you appear attractive to a woman.

While age is really not important to men for pure sexual attraction. For RMV, being fertile and young is important, but it usually includes wider age range.
