After finding FDS, I find myself questioning why I allowed myself to date my low-life exes. Of course I knew why and feel like a plum fool. I find myself comparing my most recent ex to other exes here and feel like I had the worst one at my ripe age of 29, I should've known better, right? I feel immense shame about my lack of self-esteem during those times.

What I didn't know is everything is stacked against us. Some of us come from places where we haven't learned what correct treatment is like in relationships, feel like we are undeserving of it, or feel like HVM don't exist. The latter was me. I just thought all men watch porn and have asshole tendencies because ~no one is perfect~

We all come from a culture that tells us to accept toxic men. The 'bad boy' image normalizes abuse and glorifies struggle love. It tells us we can change abusers, cheaters and men stuck in potential with our feminine wiles.

We are all in different seasons and FDS is a process to implement and all we can do at this point is move forward.
