Virginity is not the thing. The fact that "low-promiscuity" is valuable to both sexes, means it's attractive as a trait per se in both sexes. I think even the blue pillers agree with that.

I, RP, and science would like to add that men have this instinctive desire much more than women.

The whole viriginity debate is a side track. It's just one of the outcomes from that. One of the ways men have resolved that stronger general preference, because they have a much stronger general preference for non-promiscuity in LTRs than women.

Guarantee yourself a non-promiscuous women with this one easy trick......

Men satisfy this same instinctive desire in other ways too... Jealousy, Mate Guarding. This is a specific instance of a general behaviour.

I described it earlier as "feeling an ick" about LTRing a promiscuous woman. One way to get rid of the ick completely, would be to ensure you marry a virgin. And so human cultures stampeded down that route as it allowed men to solve the issue. When cultures decided, the coin flips all came up the same way for a reason. That reason is an instinctive male aversion to promiscuous women for LTR type deals.

Because they felt that aversion, the males wrote the rules that way from the very second they first picked up styluses (styli ? Pen thingies). Some of the first things they impressed in the clay tablets was "Get me a virgin, stat" and "If you marry a woman who is not a virgin you get your money back". Because that one weird trick worked.

But they wanted non-promiscuous women. Marrying virgins was just one of the easiest ways to get what they wanted.

Well yes there's some guys who value it a lot and a lot of guys who value it a little and some guys who value it not at all or accord it negative value.

But the guys who value it a lot tend to be socially maladjusted control freaks... even if you find a rich one that doesn't make up for them being controlling because rich controlling men are a shitshow which is in many ways even worse than the shitshow that poor controlling men are.

And the guys who value it a little... well it is just one of many things they value a little, if you want to make up in value for not having it you can learn to twerk or bake or whistle or something.

What is up with people on this sub and their continued weird assumption that whenever a question is asked it has to be true for all members of $gender or none.

For what it's worth here is a graph where people from five different countries were asked how important they thought no prior sexual activity was to them of their potential lovers on a scale of "0" (indifferent) to 3 (indispensible). As you can see it not only differs massively around the world how much people care but also the gender gap. In China most people answered "indispensible" clearly with slightly more females than males answering so. In Sweden almost everyone answered "indifferent" but again slightly more females than males seemed to care. The gender-lines are very lobsided in favour of males in Palestine and less so in the US.

Listen, I know that certain people and certain cultures place a high premium on female virginity, but I’m not living in those cultures. I’m a young coastal American secular Jew. The only people around me who would care about my virginity or lack thereof would probably consider the whole “secular Jew” thing a way bigger problem anyways.

Some men somewhere may value female virginity, and some women somewhere may value their opinion. I, most bluepllers, and most of the men we deal with day to day, have no reason to give a shit.

Edit: Oh, also because virginity is a made up thing. It’s a human invention that some cultures acknowledge and some don’t. Like daylight savings time and the laws of Kosher. No one is obligated to value anyone else’s made up shit, even if you think they should.
