I will try to C your V by saying that men do not branch swing; rather, they prefer to collect women. A man will be perfectly happy to keep his stout 45-year-old wife who has given him four children and countless Christmas dinners, as long as he can also have the 30-year-old blonde in Marketing, that 19-year-old sociology major, and the 32- year-old soccer mom who gives him sidelong glances at practice. He wants to keep them all! Pussy Pokemon, as u/songofmelancholy has called it.

The women, of course, do not like this arrangement at all. They might tolerate it (hat tip to TRP), but they do not like it.

You have no idea the amount of effort it requires for a man to find a mate vs a woman. Even in a relationship women receive offers from men, as they are the sexual selectors. Whereas men have to go out and put effort forth in finding a mate.

maybe the top 20% or higher are receiving some additional offers, but they would still be less often than an equivalent women's. Given the structure of dating/fucking and branch swinging, a hypothetical man will still have to go out and initiate the swing vs it falling in his lap.

the 80/20 nature of chads and non chads alone means that the vast majority of men will never be the branch swinging sex. I'm not going to even consider what men might do as they will likely never be in the practical position to find out.

edit: I should define branch swing. As far as my response is concerned (not going to presume OPs definition).

Branch swing: Leaving your current significant other specifically because you hit it off with another person with the intent to start/continue the new relationship.

Let me challenge your view in another way: who cares what “men” do? If she wants commitment, a woman doesn’t need to worry about “men.” She only needs to worry about finding ONE worthwhile man who has the character/disposition (whatever you want to call it) and is enamoured enough with her not to drop her when someone shiny comes along.

Men, by and large, do not branch swing, where the term means what it means: They do not ensure they have a firm hold on the next relationship before letting go of the first one (see how that's what the term means, and doesn't mean anything else?). Women transition from relationship to relationship primarily through branch swinging.

But, sometimes men do, in fact, branch swing. When they do, they are cheating. When this happens they either (a) don't care (These men are shitty, but they know they are shitty and don't care.), or (b) feel guilty but do it anyway. These men are also shitty, but at least they care. Women, on the other hand, always have a rationalization for why the branch swing was necessary... or not her fault... or just... magic? Every time.

Incorrect. Men are far less likely to branch swing than women. Here’s why:

It’s generally unacceptable for men in a relationship to approach women and build a flirtatious relationship to where branch swinging is possible.

Whereas women are approached all the time and are therefore more likely to entertain the flirtatious advances of men.

Due to this simple statistics problem, women are far more likely to branch swing because she is more exposed than him to interested mates.

For a man to equalize the likelihood of branch swinging, he would have to approach other women as much as his girlfriend is approached by other men. This is an unlikely scenario though.

Therefore, it is unlikely a man has a higher likelihood of branch swinging unless he is actively disrespecting his relationship. Assuming he is not, then he inherently has a lower chance of finding a different mate than his female counterpart.

You're right, men do branch swing, but men are not equally likely to branch swing as women. But I can't change your view because I'm mostly in agreement. One of the reasons why I reject like is because there are always better, hotter looking women around and attachment to one person is not what I want.

i think in general people here underestimate the feeling of "comfort." even if these so called new men/women elicit a positive response, anyone should know it is mostly temporary/fleeting, and you will end up in the same position again. for some i guess it's chasing a "high." as a man the amount of effort required to build these new relationships is a much greater investment, so i think it creates resistance for a male to do this.

the only difference is that men can achieve this successfully in nature while it is impossible for women to do this successfully.

I.E. a man can impregnate many women. but a woman can only get impregnated by one man.

thus it is accepted by nature for men to have multiple partners.

Likely to THINK about it, but most men, as pointed out by LC, can not and do not have the ability to branch swing. Does it make them better in this regard? Eh...No. But still there is a difference and quite a big one. As long as men have constant sex and nagging is turned down to minimum, why would they branch swing from happy relationship? More often than not it is women who feel that "something is missing", something just irks them, itchy pussy I don't know but they start building resentment towards a man and eventually they break up with him for trivial reasons (you do not give me attention! Vast majority of the break-ups I've seen, the woman already had a new boyfriend lined up it didn't take them long to find one. Most men had a hard time finding new ones, some didn't at all.

So in my experience, no, not equally likely.
