Yes. I spent quite a lot of time in my teenage years trying to find a doctor that would castrate me. None would of course. I genuinely hate that it gives women a huge amount of power over me no matter what I do.

It's really only an issue when a person isn't getting any on a regular basis. During long dry spells when I have to take care of myself in that department, my sex drive can feel like a burden, especially because it makes me susceptible to problems like pornography addiction, which I believe warps a person's perception of sex dynamics and relationships. But I definitely would not want to get rid of my sexuality. Sex, when it actually does take place, is very very satisfying, and especially when it's with someone you care for.

It's a burden, in my view.

Ignoring biology for a bit, it's bizarre that people's happiness depends so much on having a romantic or sexual relationship with somebody else, on having children within that relationship. It's bizarre that people would devote so much time and energy, so much of their lives, to that pursuit.

The main problem with romantic and sexual desire is that is depends on a second party to fulfill them; most people can't fulfill their own romantic and sexual desires. This dependency on other people for the fulfillment of one's desires and thus happiness strips away at people's autonomy and self-determination.

The same problem exists, I guess, to a lesser extent with platonic relationships; most people need a certain number of these, of a certain level of quality, in order to be happy.

It would be so much nicer if we were free of all that baggage.

It certainly can be. The sex drive is basically an itch you gotta scratch. If you're not itching you don't need to scratch, so you're not distracted from what you're doing.

If I have no sex drive I'm far more productive. Even though I'm not one of those whiny incels who think getting laid is the hardest thing ever (it really isn't) it does still take time and effort that could be dedicated to more constructive pursuits.

When I'm on drugs that kill my sex drive (stimulants, opiates, benzos) I become a lot more productive. When I'm sober or on drugs that increase my sex drive (pregabalin, phenibut, cannabis) I ain't getting shit done until I scratch that itch.

That said, the obvious flipside is that, ya know, sex is fun. Almost as fun as being on a load of drugs. Almost.

I don't think women will want to get rid of their sexuality because already has little impact on them. On the whole most women have a lower libido. Whereas men get pent up without sexual release and cannot focus on tasks. I don't think women have this same problem, at least not for the same length of time or degree.

However, I do think sexual curiosity is a burden. It has nothing to do with sex hormones driving desire. It's all about being exposed to sexuality at too young of an age.

I'd certainly protect my younger self from some of that if I could.

I think it's a blessing and a curse. As a man sex is linked strongly with desire. Having a sex drive, have a desire and not have it satisfied, is hell. But not have desires at all is a different kind of hell. The first one outcome is the feeling of failure, the second is depression.

As a man I am already doing things and living life in the most rational way possible. What makes me feel alive, what makes me feel that I am a living thing, what makes me a human, is that I have this biological need for sex. Without the desire for sex I am little more than an efficient robot. Something that is able to create a better world, but unable to enjoy anything in it.

No , I am female and having a higher than average sexuality is pretty neat. It needs to be "tamed" so to speak but it's very powerful because of the pleasure you can derive from great sexual experiences. Whenever I don't do it for a few days I resort to lucid dreaming lol
