These figures are derived from people in the Forbes Rich List. In other words, the top 1% of the 1% richest people.

Of course, people with that kind of wealth and power can buy themselves a beautiful young wife. And of course there will be many younger women who are willing to sacrifice sexual attraction for the benefits of having a super-wealthy and powerful husband.

This does nothing to prove that ''the wall'' exists, as these people's relationship dynamics bear no resemblance to the lives of normal people.

You need to look at the outcomes from the perspective of women. Women who marry in their early twenties have dramatically lower household income over their lives compared to those who marry later. So marrying young doesn't correlate with marrying rich at all from a female point of view.

The wall is about looks. It exists for men too. There is a time in every man's life when hot people no longer want to fuck him for looks: wall.

What you're talking about here is a separate phenomena. Once men hit the wall, they can still leverage a mate through trading resources. Young, hot women don't want to fuck these guys (and definitely not because of these dudes good looks). They do it because it provides them with resources. People with resources can choose who they fuck. I'm not sure a woman with a lot of independent resources will make the same choices, but I'll be interested to find out.

You disregard changes in society. The problem with this is that you're using something that was very established in our society (women are valued for looks and men are valued for resources) to convince yourself and others that a woman simply wakes up one day and hits the wall. Meaning it's impossible for her from that day on to find a fulfilling relationship, which is not true because women date in their 40s, 50s and even 60s. I have plenty of anecdotal evidence of that around me. Another thing you're not considering is that, as society evolves and women have more opportunities, this becomes less prevalent and the older guys hitting on 20 year olds begin being called "creeps" which is something we see happening often. The tendency here, as more and more women pursue higher levels of education and land higher paying jobs is for old men hitting on 20 somethings to keep on being perceived as creepy more and more.

Now, there will always be very shallow men and very shallow women, but those do not represent society as a whole, no matter how much TRP tries to convince everybody that it does.

The thing is men and women both reach a point where the pool has less and less desirable and realistic options, but money changes that. Wealthy older women don't have problems finding younger men, either. It happens later for men because of societal construct and strict gender roles that put men as providers, and as society changes, that changes also. Only recently (25 years or so) men started being called creeps because of their interest in very young women. The reason? Women no longer need men to be their providers; they can provide for themselves. That is also why anti feminist groups want to curb women's progress in society: because life as it was in the 1950s suits them much better.

You had to qualify this post several times with the "top quality men" who have always played by different rules. However, if you were to take the same average man and compare him to the same average woman, she still has an advantage over him in her 40s and 50s.

Lol! How many men out there are "top quality men"? In the real sense? Very very few. Most men are average, hence the word 'average', they are never going to be top quality men. All top quality people, men or women, are at the top of the dating food chain, they will always have lots of options most people don't have. A woman in her 40s that is beautiful and has money and a full life will have just as many or more options then most regular men in their 40s.

Your regular average dude is never going to have the option in his 40s to marry a 22 yr old unless he is stupid rich and then we are just talking about a sugar baby scenario. When men get to the point that the only way they can get top quality women is by paying them to fuck him on some level or another he has also hit the wall.

Everybody hits the wall, men and women. Top quality people just hit it waaayyyy later then everybody else. If you are a young guy that can't get laid in your 20s betting on there being a plethora of hot young things lining up to date your ass when you are 40 you are delusional. You better get really really rich. Otherwise, welcome to dating purgatory, because you don't get more attractive as you age, no matter how much trp screams it into the internet void it's just not true irl.

LOL anyone who thinks women in those circles aren't genuinely attracted to those rich old men. You can't fathom it. Just like before I moved to DC, I couldn't imagine going after men 20-25 years my age. It happens.

I thought it's been put to bed that the wall is not a binary imaginary line that you go from "hot" to "uggo". It exists but not as a solid line, rather, a gradual process related to aging.

To believe that you can still be hot in your mid 40s is naive, unrealistic, and wrong. The super hot 40, 50 something women and men are rare.

Tha wall exists, but don't take it too literally.

You're saying the wall is all about money. The problem here is that year by year women are becoming better trained and wealthier. Men are going to need more than money into the future to secure a young and pretty wife.

As women learn to stretch their boundaries after a divorce and accept younger men, the number of women remarrying younger men will keep increasing.

I didn't get with my partner after my divorce because he's younger but because he was the best in a wide pool. Neither of us were rich - both fairly poor actually. If I restricted myself to men older than me, my choices would have been restricted. I was open to a wide range of ages, including older, but there was no one else quite like him. We have both surged ahead in leaps and bounds since we found each other, financially and in life happiness, as though we both needed the support of each other to get ahead.

The whole "wall" thing isn't only about age and fading beauty. Much of this comes down to values and behavior. Many women in their 20's choose a promiscuous lifestyle, putting their own fun and pleasures above everything and everyone, not giving two shits about consequences.

There comes a moment in life when they realize that maybe their life choices weren't that good after all, assuming that they gain enough self-criticism to explain why they still have been still single in their late 30's.

A decent woman who has high values, no substance abuse or any other risky habits can very well get around the wall at a much older age. Now granted, we all will get old some day, but if she is in a happy and stable relationship/marriage, she only has to be just good enough for her partner and vice versa.

Can confirm. I'm 50 and regularly serial-date (1-2 years) 25-30 year olds. Have been doing so for 15 years. I get older...they stay the same age.

6'4", pretty fit, white collar, low six figures, prolly an honest 7 looks-wise. Shaved head. Not "wealthy" but own a nice house and several vehicles.

I wouldn't look twice at a 40-year old woman.
