All reasons why I don't do OLD anymore.

The worst is what they don't tell you or what the dating app doesn't ask of them. Like their criminal history!

I spent a winter evening talking to a man on OLD. Since I'm in the rural Midwest,.its easy to find someone with a first name and an occupation. Turned out he had gone to prison for killing his toddlers drunk driving. Got released 5 yrs prior.

I swear, dating apps should require MEN to submit their info for background checks to weed out shit like this. And why men only? Because they commit 90% if all violent crimes and sex offenses,!

So yeah, you could be talking to a sexual predator or a convicted felon. The apps don't even get into THOSE questions.

Nearly every guy I met IRL on OLD(about four) lied about their height and I was the same height or taller than them. I’m barely five feet tall. One guy got pissed because I mentioned that I usually dated tall men and “dominated” them. FWIW, I had to learn to be tougher because men thought I was cute and submissive.

Running background checks on men is certainly eye-opening. They get uncomfortable knowing that we can verify what’s truth or lies. Yeah, buddy don’t lie then. I had a guy turn it around on me and imply I lied about my life. My address, he was never going to get; my education: I said I was degreed AND brushing up on some subjects on my own. He thought I was dumber than he was, and I suddenly became his adversary, to be challenged on every thing.

To the “what he’s looking for” point - “I’m not looking for anything serious” still doesn’t say what you ARE looking for 🙄🙄🙄 if I had a dollar for every time I heard this line... Like if you’re looking for a one night stand just say that so you can be declined instead of saying what you’re NOT looking for and wasting my time.

If men were honest: I’m short fat old ugly bald - I don’t shower, wash my balls or brush my teeth. But I want a supermodel at least half my age to cook and clean and blow me on demand. Also take care of my kids. Also I’ll probably be texting other women and will cheat on you if I have a chance.

Note: I’m 5’1”, I don’t even care if the guys short tbh

Every day I’m more confident in the fact that I’ll never get back on OLD. It’s such a waste of time.

Not to mention, maybe it’s where I live, but they are all so unattractive! Men put zero effort into their looks but expect us to look like a Victoria’s Secret model lol ridiculous

I briefly texted with a guy from old. Maybe a week or so, multiple times a day. He asked me for my social media, and when I looked up his fb information and got his full name, there he was in the registry for molesting a child. Stupidly I brought it up because I was angry, and he tried to tell me he'd been baby sitting the son of a close friend who'd misunderstand it didn't really happen.

I reported him to the police because he wasn't registered with his current address based on what city he claimed to live in while texting with me (lived in someone's basement) and ran.
