Since the dawn of time, man has struggled to attract the opposite sex. Some go the beta route, buying her flowers, dinners, and showering her with affection, only to be dumped for Brad the college quarterback. Others take pick-up lessons, studying and practicing for hours. Others spend time on themselves, until they are the ultimate man. The question is - why must men work so hard to attract women if men and women are equal?

The simple fact of the matter is: Women and men aren't equal. Men will find many different kinds of women attractive. Even the most hideous of she-beasts will find a niche audience. Women, however, are very picky - if you aren't at the top of the pack, you might as well be invisible.

Tinder Data:

Men grade women on the bell curve. Women only find ~19% of men average in attractiveness. Although men will focus on the hotties more than the women, let's face it, when was the last time a woman initiated?

These results are further verified by OkCupid:

As you can see from the gray line, women rate an incredible 80% of guys as worse-looking than medium. Very harsh.

Let's see what the proud feminists of r/askwomen think of the average male...(no links, just take my word).

It's harder to get them to fuck you, first of all. Because, obviously, they're a much smaller group than "every dude I don't want to fuck," and they often have - because they're hot - higher standards. If I wanna bang 20% of the dudes I see, and 10% of all dudes want to bang me, 2% of the people I'd bang would be open to it, and 8% of people I don't want to sleep with would be. Factoring in the idea that hot people have higher standards, now only 5% of the hot guys would hit it, and 20% of the rest. This means that out of a hundred dudes, 17 people want to fuck me, but only one of them is someone I want to fuck.

0-5%. I'm less picky about women as I don't want to have sex with them, so they're either "pretty" or "not pretty." Whereas men can be "good looking but not my style" or "would be cute if..." etc.

2% tops.

I spend most of my day around other college students, so maybe 10-20%? 30% on a good day?

1% or less. Not that everyone is ugly, it's just very rare that a see a man striking enough for me to think, "Wow, he's easy on the eyes."

<1%. ...most men get more attractive after they show me their wit, intellect, charm, good nature, etc. It seems to me most guys put little effort into their base physical attractiveness (shaved/trimmed facial hair, clear skin, nice haircut, sharp clothing, clean nails, fresh breath/straight teeth, etc).

Ummmm I guess 5% of men I see and swoon for in my normal day. If I'm in London it's more like 25% since I fall in love half a dozen times on Tube trips with gorgeous city men.

Maybe like 5% or down to 0% but that's because I rarely see men in my age range.

Maybe 20% is too generous!

And let's not forget - one of the best ways to get messages on dating websites...is by being fucking RICH!

You may wonder - "If women are only attracted to the top 20% of men, how do most people get laid/marry?" Women have to settle, of course. And when they realize its not enough...well, it explains all those dead bedrooms and women divorce raping their men.

For alphas-in-training: keep working up to the 20%. For beta buxxs: how is this data not accurate?
