Being upfront, I wouldn't consider myself the most super high SMV male who ever lived, but I'm good enough to have had a fairly constant stream of women trying to 'lock me down' during my life (long before I realized this was a bad thing) and it was well before I had any sort of money. But as I approach 30, I've realized that being in a relationship isn't fun at all, it actually kind of sucks for a variety of reasons. If you're anything like me you were probably raised with a mother building up getting a girlfriend as one of the greatest accomplishments in life and when the first few didn't work out it was just 'they weren't the right women'. But I've had about 5 long term relationships now and several other short ones and I just think I'm no longer interested for a variety of reasons:

1) They're boring. This is the primary reason. Most of the women you date you just don't have anything in common with. I get its not all women, but most just simply don't have anything that they do for enjoyment. Their enjoyment seems to be socializing and adding social proof, so basically going places to take photos for facebook. Relationships involve going places you don't enjoy, having conversations you don't find interesting and take up your spare time.

2) They want you to spend all your spare time with them. This is the one thing I've never gotten. I have things I like to do a few different nights per week. I don't want to spend my life 'hanging' with her or spending money going to dinner with nothing new to talk about. Most women would be with you 24/7 if they had the option and when you combine 1 and 2 together they create a very unenjoyable experience.

3) The relationships always seem compromised. I don't know how guys put up with it for so long but you can never have a relationship without incident, it might just be me, but women always bring drama into the relationship, if that involves another guy I end the relationship. I know plenty of guys who have their women seeing other men 'as friends' behind their back. It seems that unless you give them something to do constantly they just start to bring drama onboard.

4) The sex goes downhill, always. While the first year always has good sex, after that its inevitable it will go down hill and become an irregular occurrence.

5) It takes up all your money, time and resources. For something thats not even that enjoyable this doesn't seem like a good deal.

I can't really express these things anywhere else as they're not socially popular ideas. Society wants you to view dating someone as a very positive thing, at this point apart from the occasional very short term thing I would be happy never dating again. The only real negative to singleness is that society views you differently for it. They view you like a failure. I suspect that will take a while to turn around.
