I was trying to explain this concept to my coworker today. Was telling him why, despite being with a woman I love and enjoy for almost ten years, I'm not in a rush to get married. He says "For most people it's like their primary goal."

I told him it's a primary goal for women- or for anyone who needs to lock down some don't-die-alone insurance because they're insecure.

I told him that marriage is basically signing a contract that says I'll love you forever, but as a man you have the additional responsibility of supporting her forever if either of you ever changes your mind. Or if she cheats on you, cuckolds you and makes you feed someone else's kid, anything.

I told him that in a good relationship, you both need to be constantly demonstrating that you are worthy of the other person, and that when it stops, you walk. Signing a contract is just a way for women to secure your resources without having to maintain their end of the deal.

He's been quiet for the rest of the day so far.

I've posted this before and it bears repeating: Follow the money.

Imagine you're the government. You have the choice of making support payments to some single mother...or pinning it on some poor sucker. Which do you choose? And what's the poor sucker going to do if you pin the whole thing on him? Sue you?

Also, family courts in the USA get federal matching funds for collecting child support payments. If child support payments are missed or reduced, then the family court won't get as much "commission" from the federal government.

Do you see now why States are so rigorous in enforcing child support obligations…while they could care less about enforcing visitation orders? There’s no matching Federal Funds for ensuring Non-Custodial Parent visitation programs!

This is why so many child support cases are enforced with utter ruthlessness…why a man who is disabled or unemployed through no fault of his own can still be held accountable for his child support ruling and the Family Courts are very resistant to lowering the support obligations…even temporarily. There’s a lot of Federal Matching Funds at stake if men were simply allowed to actually be held responsible to reasonable child support obligations given circumstances regarding his earning abilities.

Also, once you START paying child support, supposedly, you accept responsibility. This means you can't stop, if you find out the kid wasn't yours later.

It's criminal and puts the man on the hook. In the other case, if the woman can't afford the child and goes on welfare, this puts the burden on the state, not the woman, so this law keeps the burden away from the state, even though it sucks ass for the man.

Being a lawyer and having some idea of it, yes. In my state the standard is "best interest of the child." So if a man makes himself out to be a father figure, the state will impose those duties on him. Sucks.

Even if you're dating a woman and you become part of that child's life for a couple years who sees you as such, the mother might be able to get child support from you.

This is a quick run down and more is involved in determining but keep it in mind. Family law varies by state. Good luck.

P.S. a lot of the girls I went to law school with ended up in family law. They love that shit.

I remember in my blue pill days I had very little sympathy for the "fathers for justice" movement. Now I understand this is because men get no sympathy, and the misrepresentation from the left leaning papers.

However, there a kind of cognitive dissonance that happens when you present these facts to people, they'll actively fight the acceptance that injustice is happening when the victims are men.

This guy is being quiet, not because he's processing 'the truth' but because you've just outed yourself as an outsider, a treat to the group think.

You don't even have to be married. If you admit paternity by signing the birth certificate, you are liable for child support. In some states you don't even have to sign the birth certificate, just welcoming the child into your home and presenting it as your own is taken as evidence of paternity. If you do this, and a later paternity test shows that you are not really the father, too bad.

The solution:

Never own your wealth in your own name. Especially real estate. Anything worth more than a few hundred dollars is owned by your company and your company is heavily indebted to another company in an offshore jurisdiction, which might or might not be owned by another company or fund owned by an anonymous society which might or might not only have one member.

And even if you're a red piller who's never getting married, cohabitating or knocking some chick up you can count the years on one hand before you will be hit by bachelor taxes and yearly license fees for your being allowed to do your profession. Never have wealth tied to your name.

And I hope I don't need to tell you why your company needs to be indebted and making zero each year. That nice company will be given to your lovely lady when shit hits the fan. But she won't be too interested when debts are twice turnover.

Serious question: Is there separation of property in your country? In my country if you have premarital assets and separation of property, you don't have to divide after divorce.

I think that knowing if the baby is yours is hard unless it has physical traits different from both parents. There are DNA paternity tests but I don't know if they are quick and discreet.

Presumptive paternity means that if they're married he doesn't have to sign shit. She could videotape for 10 months straight from when random guy nails her and blows his load in her til she gives birth and it wouldn't matter.
