How long can a man go without contacting you?

I don’t sit around waiting for a man’s text, counting the days I haven’t heard from him.

If it seems like there is a long stretch of time where he hasn’t contacted me to set up a date or follow up to see how my week is going, I move on. Stay busy and follow your intuition.

In the past I’ve had guys disappearing for a whole week only to pop up later asking how my week was going 🙄 and they were just attention seeking I assure you

If this guy disappeared for 3 days without explanation, he’s not worth your time and energy. There’s nothing such as “bad texter”

If he is interested, he will respond within a few minutes - less than 24 hours. Some guys wait intentionally to avoid looking desperate on their part. On the other hand, if he goes more than a day, weeks pass by, he doesn't have you as his priority and that's his loss. LVMs seek attention and girls who are easy to get so they'll prey on them instead.

Life happens so it’s not always possible to text frequently. HOWEVER, if a guy likes you and he needs to go off the grid for a few days, he should ALWAYS give you a heads up. I’ve been talking to a guy recently, and he’s currently caring for his mom, who has stage 5 cancer, aunt and grandmother whilst working from home and trying to maintain a social life with his friends. If he has a meeting in the morning, he always lets me know and tells me when he will be available again. From experience, its not a good sign if a guy feels comfortable not speaking to you for three days. Whilst it’s not always possible to have a full conversation, texting is a low-effort activity. It takes less than 30 seconds to send someone a text to let them know you won’t be available. I would start moving on.

If he truly cared, he'd be concerned about how many potential suitors would be reaching out to you in those three days ie hed try to keep you close. Time to move on def sis.

Two days is my limit. If he doesn't have a good explanation and just disappears out of the blue, he will never hear from me again when he pops up after days or even weeks. Waste of time

Well in a relationship at least once a day (phone/video call). In the first stages of dating, constant texts. Greater than 48hrs means he's clearly not invested, so am out

I’m clearly in the minority here, but 2-3 times a week is fine with me. I hate texting someone every day. I find it exhausting and unnecessary.

24 hours is my max. Few people go that long without checking their phones. Even if you don’t use your phone to text there is still the alarm, checking the time and weather etc. There’s no such thing as a bad texter. Either they wanna text you or they don’t. One guy used this excuse on me yet he was always on his phone when we hung out.

If we were texting and the convo ends, we say bye, goodnight, whatever, it's cool if two days pass.

If we were texting back and forth and he disappears and doesn't text back for a full day.... Boy bye!

This guy I’m talking to is a compsci major and he works for DoorDash and his phone regularly breaks. I know he’s busy asf, but I ain’t heard from him in 3ish days either. I wanna block him, but he’s really nice to talk to, he is just sooooo bad at responding. Idk what to do so I’m saving this thread for future reference

while I wouldnt go so far as to claim hes dead to me, I would definately put him on the back burner. I used to have a FWB (VERY HVM, by the way), contact me every year without fail the week of his birthday. I have been known to date more than one man at a time (discreetly), so depending on my mood, eh, maybe I"ll let you whine for a bit... I will offer this up after years of dating, if you leave things silently up in the air with no closure, every turn of the seasons, THEY WILL CONTACT YOU. Spring fever, (Or for that matter, summer fall or winter fever DOES exist.) I wouldn't let myself be too emotionally invested in this guy, but if he IS a HVM, keep that door silently cracked. A blast from the past is good for the ego.

When my BF and I were dating, as long as we had our next date set up (and we always did) I really didn't care if he contacted me between dates. He usually did at least once just to say he was thinking of me or something.

Now that we're in a committed relationship, I'd probably get concerned if I didn't hear from him for more than a day.
