It’s so horrible how women are always sexualized even when doing the most mundane tasks or work. Worked as a cashier during high school and you won’t believe how much my fellow female coworkers and I were harassed during work, I even had to quit because a mid-30s alcoholic started stalking me. This is why women can't compliment men. We get in trouble for being nice. LVM will hold niceness over your head to cash in for sex or love. I had a LVM tell me that because I was nice to him at some point it meant I actually liked him and wanted to have his children even though I told him I didn't like him and didn't want to date him. The fact that I was nice to him in the past had to be proof I was actually open to him underneath my refusal. This sub taught me it was a mistake to explain myself to him anyway. I didn't have to tell him I didn't like him, I should have ghosted and not cared to be polite enough to explain. At many retail jobs you are instructed to say "have a nice day" or some sort of script. I don't understand why he said she "didn't have to say it". Men are sick. Edit: typo

I used to manage a video game store some years ago and have a unique first name. I’d say I’ve had a dozen men who were my customers try to add/message me on Facebook trying to start a conversation. They’d ask me shit like “how much store credit can I get for Black Ops?” at like fucking 2:00 AM.

Luckily I no longer work with the general public in a retail setting. I do work on the phone sometimes and have been complimented on my voice (one guy said he could tell I had a “cute face” by my voice yikes), but I only have to give my last name at this job thank goodness.
