Because of #MeToo the number of male managers uncomfortable mentoring women has more than tripled. Almost half are uncomfortable participating in a common work activity with a woman.
I’ve coached high school girls basketball and been very successful for almost a decade (7 district titles and 3 state in 9 years). At the end of this year, I cannot in good conscious continue to do so for fear of allegations that while most definitely would be false, could prove damning to myself professionally and to my family. It’s heartbreaking, because I won’t be coaching my daughter as she gets into high school. But I cannot and will not make myself a target for some teenage girl or a woman that wants to advance her own agenda. I’ve always had female assistants due to not wanting to be in a situation that could be suspect, but now I don’t even trust my colleagues to do and say what’s right.
Women have always been a liability if you ask me. Sure this is more widespread and they are more of a liability now but 20 years ago I was already hearing of places where women where using laws to sue their employer for shit THEY did. Oh yeah I got pregnant, took 3 years off and now you won't promote me versus the man who worked all those three years? Here comes motherfucking fair employment department (governmental organisation) to ''look at your work ethic and fair practices''.
There was a lawsuit about a huge government department not having equal wages for their male and female employees. The only thing they proved is that in average women earned less than men. By their own ''survey'', the average years women had worked was lower than men... yet they won in court because FUCK LOGIC! I had a family member that was in that lawsuit and I knew from her own admittance that there was no sexism and they had no argument to stand on. For years she was ''not expecting much because there isn't much to the lawsuit'' but they still won hundreds of millions... go figure what the heck was going trough that judge mind. Even after the fact, the media couldn't find a single instance of someone being unfairly treated for being a woman. Those jobs have paybooks for the jobs, they are publicly posted on internet and available in print for a small fee. But something something, they now have to consider the years those women ''missed work due to child birth''. So yeah you took 24 months off for having a child? Doesn't matter, when you come back they must give you three steps higher salary and your 4 weeks of vacation (2 weeks * 2 years) or more if you where at 3 or 4 weeks per year.
Everywhere I look there is a bunch of women getting into lawsuits about ''unfair treatment''. Wehre are the pursuits from men about not giving them more for harder physical work or for forcing them to work overtime (often not paid for the full overtime they did) ? Where is the lawsuits for giving them positions with higher mortality rates?
The problem is we allow women to come into a workplace and just trash the damn place. I saw sexism from both sides when I worked at different places. It was rampant but let's not pretend it was a one way street. In fact, men where sexist towards women to one another but women had no need to be so discreet, they would make really mean jokes out loud because there is basically no repercusions. If a man dare say a word it'll be met with ''grow up and stop being a little cry baby about it''.
nd he finishes off with whataboutism that's again entirely based on his personal experience. Ive seen magnitudes more sexism towards women than towards men in the workplace or otherwise. Can I now use this as proof, too?
Why would you need to? Because your comment STARTS with your own opinion used as a fact :
Ive never seen a female coworker ...
This is the problem with your comment in a nutshell: you use your experience to validate your point while also using other people experience as ''non-valid argument''.
what? it was either sexual aggression precisely because she was a woman, or it was regular aggression because she was hard to work with.
She didn't have a bigger ego than other male engineers. But her ego and defensive nature were born from a lifetime of being a high end engineer as a woman.
again, what? if all engineers have egos, then were male engineers' egos born from a lifetime of being engineers as men?
Why it didn't happen, I'm sure she felt it had to do with her being a woman
sounds like it's you who feels like it had to do with her being a woman.
Women aren't born to act like this, it's created by a lifetime of experiences
no one is born to act the way they do, everyone is [at least by large] is a product of their experiences.
your entire tirade can be summed up by "people treated her this way not because shes a woman, but because she's a bitch... but she was a bitch because she's a woman".
So the legitimate guys are less likely to accept a mentoring role with a woman, meaning the guys with ill intent are more likely to get assigned to a mentorship role. Well done.
I didn't claim that me too shit. But I watched other grown women on my Facebook make fools of themselves and cringed the whole time. It seems to me many of them just wanted attention. I've known some of these gals my whole life and had very close friendship with some of them. None ever mentioned the supposed assault until #MeToo. None had any major bumps in the road that indicated a tragedy like that. This is another garbage movement from the "feminist" left that hurts normal women.
'MeToo' became an automatic way to get attention. A girl on my facebook claimed 'MeToo' because someone checked out her bum on the train. MeToo was nothing more than an attention grab.
No one is responsible for how you react to cat calling, if you honestly fear for your life when it happens you are delusional. No statistics will back up your fear of being murdered because you ignored a rude comment. Why? Because it simply doesn't fucking happen. How do you even make it out your front door in the morning? Christ.
Fucking hell, people are dense as shit. I have read a few articles about this. Every single one just blames men for not wanting to mentor junior female employees or spend time alone with them outside of work.

NOT ONE FUCKING SENTENCE castigating false reports or saying that pretty much any attitude other than automatically believing accusers no matter what would ease men's concerns and bring those numbers back in line with prior figures.
It's never women's fault. Never. Everything is men's fault. And I understand that male sexual harassment of women is a big issue that's run totally out of control. I think most men get that. All we want is some assurance that if someone falsely accuses us decent men of wrongdoing of that nature, we won't be automatically thrown under the bus. Until we get that, you're going to continue seeing some of us not wanting to spend significant time with women coworkers under 50 outside of (and even at) work, period.
OMG you're not a woman and it shows, do you know how awful it is to have your ass touched by some creep? HEEEEK!
But seriously, yeah you're totally on point. There is basically no guidelines on just ''how bad'' something is. He raped you twice? He touched your ass? He said your boobs look good in that shirt? All considered the same in the court of the #metoo movement!
