amusingly I recently saw an ELI5 about where to find unbiased news sources and someone suggested the BBC was the best unbiased news source. I quickly commented that they are quite biased particularly with their feminist man hating agenda. I expected to get downvoted a lot but didn't appear to get any votes at all... maybe i've been shadowbanned from the sub for it... lol. in any case... as if to prove my point, today we have this lovely anti-white male gem...

The funny thing is, it's a radio programme. I really couldn't care about the race of someone on the radio and (if I'm honest) some of the programmes I've heard that centre on an asian or black character just seem to use it as the sole hook for all of their jokes.

Stephen Fry was ousted from QI for the same reason. Such a shame, as it was a dream job for him in many respects. No other personality could hope to fill his shoes. Same reason given officially: "More females needed".

Next season will feature a female host who is not popular with the public, nor known for being funny, or especially knowledgable of esoterica (in contrast to Fry, who is a household name in the UK, for the speed of his wit and his raconteur's general knowledge). It will also feature an additional female panelist each show as a matter of principal, many of whom will be panel show rookies. Their male counterparts will be tested veterans.

The show mostly revolves around pub-quiz-style trivia and grumpy-old-man banter. By all means, if there are female comic talents who are suited to this, put them in the show. But by removing the host the BBC has sacrficed one of the richest elements of the show to please a demographic who likely won't even be tuning in.

It is really quite sad. Stephen Fry in his role as host represented something in British culture that may never happen again.

I don't watch it, but you only have to watch Big Brother to see how desperate producers are to cater for each and every diversity just to keep everyone happy.

This is where we are now. We feel like we have to please everybody or else we'll be labeled as prejudice towards a group.
