Amen brother! I know this all too well. My ex would call me at work and bitch at me if i bought a $2 oatmeal. Ive been divorced 3yrs, but damn it feels good buying shit and not having to ask for permission. Im now thinking about a PSVR 2 headset for my PS5. my ex wouldn't let me follow a diet to lose weight and she would make me feel guilty about spending an hour working out. anything positive i'd try to do she would make me feel guilty about it. but she was always down for me to play video games and drink alcohol (sounded like a legit deal at first until i wanted to progress my life in a positive direction).

i'm currently following a diet, and working out tons. first time i've ever had visible abs even. and i don't have to drink alcohol to please her. she still takes jabs at my healthy eating habits and working out when she sees me though, but it just solidifies the reason why i needed out of the relationship.

the small wins are amazing.
