You can't say it's fine to drop off the kids with her, and then complain about why she wants it. Attention is the coin of the realm to women, and it's apparent to any man that women use kids as props. Most women don't want to be a mother. They just want the status that comes with being a mother.

Exactly! My ex does everything she can to not be a mom. Suddenly today, she wants a couple hours. I was thinking, why just a couple hours? And your post made me realize, ah yes it’s because she needs to keep the appearances of being a mom on her social media lol.

I have a tradition to post a tweet that says,

“Shout out to all the mothers who take that title serious and make sacrifices for their kids sake.”

There a thousands of wonderful mother’s out there. Today is a day to celebrate them. I encourage you let your “loathing” of this holiday go away. It’s a beautiful day to celebrate mother’s. I’ve seen Father’s Day people celebrate women who are the fathers in their kids lives and I feel the same way with Mother’s Day, because single fathers have to be the mothers in their kids lives too.

Focus on all the good things your mother has done for you. Focus on all the good things your kids’ mother has done for them. You don’t have to love her. You don’t have to be friends. You are forever on the same team, for better or worse. Live in peace.

I honestly believe that a lot of women purposely shit on men being fathers so they believe they can manipulate society. Of course, they’d never take responsibility for bad single mothers, because women “always enter relationships with the purest of intention”.

Yeah man... I too detest this and all the other Hallmark Holidays, as someone above so aptly put it. I think it's the right thing to do to offer for the kids to be with her today, full stop. I love also the idea of giving the kids the choice of whether they want to go. My daughter is with her mom today, so we didn't have to go through all the scheduling stuff, thank god. I will text her HMD, and that's that.

My ex left my son with my parents while he was really sick so she could go to a hotel booked with my card to have sex with some random dude. My sister had to take him to ER in the middle of the night, my ex was nowhere to be found.

I never wished happy mother's day to her after that.

Yes I was debating whether to send her a text to wish her a happy Mother's Day, but decided against it. I had the kids yesterday until 5 pm. I've been battling a stomach bug so thankfully I can just lay in bed and run back and forth from the toilet without having to worry about someone being "annoyed" that I'm sick.

About 2 weeks ago our divorce was finalized, today, mothers day the ex has to work a 'double shift'(read as go to APs house this afternoon.) Not doing a damn thing for her, no more mothers day.

Kids missed Easter this year as well. Happened to be on her weekend, so I figured she’d be excited and make it fun with them. I was wrong. And somehow them not having Easter was my fault.

My ex always has a tough time during this time of the year. Her birthday is on cinco de mayo and then Mother’s Day is generally a couple of days after it. She has real issues with getting older. She also has issues with not being a ‘good’ mother and needs my daughter’s heavy love and adoration to tell her that she is indeed a good mom…

So I got a call on Sunday around noon with my ex crying and complaining about my girls not showing her enough love. Now first off why I’m the person she rants too I don’t know. When this happens I generally get off the phone as quickly as possible. What struck me as the worst was when she said ‘next year I don’t even want them.’ 😮 I have known since the divorce, when she accused me of only wanting the girls for the money, what her relationship with my girls is. It’s a paycheck for her. That’s all. And that makes me sad. There are things that my girls need their mother for, and they aren’t getting it from her.

Overall I find Mother’s Day is one of the weirdest holidays of the year. Unlike Father’s Day, it seems moms NEED the acknowledgement that they’re good moms. Or at least some do. So we get a million Facebook posts about how great they are…. Then other women post to show they’re not heartless bitches for not showing their families and their own moms. It’s so weird. Hey we don’t have to deal with it for another year at least.
