Look up trauma bonding. This makes them go after men who seem "familiar" and go after the "stronger" guys in order to feel protected and safe.

So, about that. That’s actually not an experiment.

There’s no control group to evaluate the effect of the bio. It could be that the content doesn’t matter. It could also be that people don’t read them. Maybe profiles with a nice bio get significantly more matches. Maybe profile with no bio get as much.
There’s no further investigation. It could be that people think it’s a joke, or some wild shit, and match nevertheless. There’s no profiling of the matching people either. They could very well be felons themselves. Or catfishes.
There will always be wild people looking for a thrill.
There’s no way to tell if this behaviour can be generalised outside of dating apps. Experiments or data-collected from dating apps need further work to be generalised to other forms of dating.
Matches don’t always translate in actual relationships. Maybe the personality filtering is done at some other point of the relationship process. This would make sense as a bio might seem more easily manufactured than a real-time interaction.

Ultimately, this is inconclusive. This proves nothing. It has a shock factor, as the experience some guys have is to never get a single match. But looking past that only shows inconclusiveness and poor understanding of how knowledge works.

My opinion is that you have no idea how many women swiped no or ignored these fake profiles versus the ones who swiped yes probably thinking it was a joke. They clearly cherry pick conversations that support their ideology when it comes to these “experiments” and you have no idea what conversations or women support that their premises are bullshit. They have an agenda. They will post shit that supports their agenda and neglect to post shit that doesn’t. So no, it can’t be trusted as some sort of proof of “female nature”.

Girls go for assholes for a few reasons, usually because they’re young and immature, it’s subconsciously seeking out their own asshole dad’s behavior which is familiar to them, or they have low self-esteem and believe they deserve to be treated poorly. You can apply this to men seeking out asshole women, too. It goes both ways.

Ultimately, healthy people pick healthy people, so you shouldn’t want to be with anyone who is attracted to assholes.

It's fake, is not real, don't believe everything you see on the internet. Having a criminal background is a huge red flag that will turn most women away. When I was dating online I read all the profiles. I didn't message guys that had mostly different interests than me.

And sure, looks matter for women, but they matter for men too! Seems extremely hypocritical to judge women for looking for attractive men. Physical appearance is only part of the equation, it may help you get your foot in the door but if you're an asshole, abusive, have mental issues, ect, you're not going to get far at all.

My first thought is that some women would be looking for a fuck buddy, so looks are vital and a lot would overlook bad personality shit in that case.

The main thing missed though is that yeah looks makes it easier to date and get matches, but long term happiness depends on personality. You can't out-ab an abusive, narcissistic asshole.

Why don't these guys get these same profiles and instead of adding a POS bio of a former convict or ISIS fighter or pedophile add something positive like saying he volunteers at local animal shelter or something? Then actually COMPARE the matches. I bet you the positive Bio would get more matches, in which case you could say the POS bio is actually hurting your chances.

As for good looking guys getting matches despite being pieces of shit... well... there are indeed some thirsty piece of shit women out there. There's always that one bitch who'll suck dick just because you're good looking or rich, no matter what lol. There should be way more social shaming on women for liking bad boys. These experiments are subjected to a selection bias. Anecdotes don't tell me much of anything. I'm willing to grant redpillers/blackpillers the 80/20 meme, but I can only limit that to a population of women on Tinder, not an entire population of women.
