That’s she’s only on twitter because it’s a text based site. I’m assuming it meant she doesn’t post provocative/thirst trapping/attention seeking photos on Instagram. I don’t know, I don’t like this quote, very weird.

i wouldn't necessarily advise to just believe it. look him up.
however, i personally also don't really use social media. i do have an instagram account, but it's completely empty and i only use it to share memes and reels with a friend or two. so it's rare, but happening.

I fell for that once and it turns out he had a facebook full of pictures of him and another girl.
It's possible a man doesn't have social media accounts, but it's unlikely. Especially if he uses dating apps. If he is using dating apps, what stops him from using Facebook or Instagram?

My ex actually did not have any social media, at least not the kind you’d normally think of... turns out he used multiple Reddit accounts that he’d use to post on dating subreddits and look at porn though.... even while we were together... he went through about 10+ throwaways that I know of for this. So while at first I thought it made him look mature to “not use social media” because my previous ex would look at Instagram models all the time, it turns out this guy was even worse but just better at hiding it due to the anonymity of this site. Of course, he tried to lie about all of it when caught red-handed💀
Look him up, pay attention if he seems to be glued to his phone, etc. He might not be lying about having no social media, especially if he’s older, but most younger men use it in some capacity.

He should at least have a linkedin! Twitter & reddit could be used to lurk industry trends and follow professionals but rarely if ever to post.
IG & FB empty / only following friends & family and not updated for the past years is very common around me.
But I doubt a man below 40 yo wouldn't have at all a FB registered to their name. If they tell you they don't have one, I'd investigate a little...

Not having one in the literal sense is normally a lie. Ones who aren't lying to cheat etc, that is HVM who don't really use social media, tend to have the accounts and can provide them but don't post on them basically. Like you'll ask and they'll be like "oh my insta is (insert here), I don't really use it much though." And you check and indeed, there's maybe 4 posts on it from a year ago most recently, for example. It's extremely rare for one to genuinely not have ANY social media.

Depends on how old. Older men (late 40s, 50s and above) often don't (but hopefully they have LinkedIn). I also knew a HVM who didn't have social media because he was paranoid about privacy due to some ideas he picked up growing up in Eastern Europe.

My Husband barely ever uses his smartphone, Like at most for Uber or Youtube and of course phone calls but on most days he'll leave the phone on his desk or it doesn't leave his pocket

I think people are overthinking this haha. It means to her (assuming the user's pronouns include her) an ideal relationship is a girl whose only social media she decides to use is Twitter (meaning she knows the memes and jokes of twitter) and her boyfriend doesn't use social media at all.

Out of jokes, while I'm a Twitter gf myself I will NEVER date a man who has a Twitter account again. We met there and after the breakup he was disgustingly disrespectful by liking every attention-seeking pick-me's posts while playing the "poor me I'm so heartbroken" act with his tweets. I felt like a fucking clown because all our followers knew we were dating. It's not like other men don't act thirsty looking for a rebound, but at least I'm not there to see it right in front of my face.

Get the joke, funny yes, but I get really suspicious of men my age who don't have social media accounts (I'm 23) because it either means they like to be "private" which usually ends up being weirdly secretive about dates or they have secret accounts where they follow only girls they find attractive or porn stars. I prefer going out with men who do have accounts so it's easier to vet them based on what/who they follow.
