While researching personality disorders I learned that some men with them are late on dates or ghost as a "power move" and I think that was the intention here. It happened to me once and I will NEVER wait for more than a few minutes if my date is running late. Not sure if I should wait up to 10 as that seems legit but I waited 20 for some dude that was truly insane. He said he was running late but showed later, he dominated the convo and lied about who he was on his profile. I said no kids, be under 30 and he was 45 with a 15 year old kid. WTF?

I remember this. It's the first in a series of VM.

Basically- he stands her up, then leaves mountains of verbal vomit on her phone, claiming she owes him another chance, and then his mom starts leaving her voicemails also, inviting her over for lunch, stating that her son would never do what he did although it's probably her fault he stood her up.

The crux of his anger is that after standing her up, calling 2 hrs later with the lie that his dad was sick, then calling again to admit he lied, he thinks SHE is being unreasonable by not meeting him again because "he's so honest".

I don't have words to describe this situation...it's so bizarre. How on earth is a guy's mother so heavily involved in his dating life?!?!? This guy has more than a few screws loose if he is harassing this poor woman like this for over a date where he stood her up. The worst thing is his entitlement in thinking that this woman owes him her time. He's lucky that she hasn't called the cops on his crazy ass for stalking and harassment.

With dating these days, women will have to start doing psychological mental health checks on potential dates because that's some scary shit right there.

What really gets me is how normal they sound in terms of how they speak, they sound reasonable, without the context I would wonder what was going on that was so upsetting. My experiences back in the day was people were easier to flag. It was more obvious they were crazy or knew they were trying to get away with something they shouldn't. Back then we didn't have social media or youtube, I wonder if that contrubutes to people being able to mask better.

That is a typical move I've seen guys do, especially in high school. Ignore what he did wrong as if it didn't happen, make the focus where he was in the "right" no matter how far fetched or ridiculous, then set up a fake "boundary" for her to "violate" to come out on top. You're the bad person, he's the good person. He gets to escape rejection and being wrong when he changes the rules and story. "I know you're at work but you haven't responded to my call in an hour. I'll give you another half hour and if you don't call me, it's not going to work out." There were no consequences to their behavior, girls had severe social consequences, boys would attempt to get away with anything they could.
