Is anyone else tired of the perpetual male victimhood circlejerk about men “not getting compliments.” It’s such a childish lie when you can clearly see women bending over backwards to emotionally jerk men off with compliments all the time even when they’ve done nothing worth complimenting. They get mad that we don’t compliment them “enough” (I don’t think we owe them any) but a lot of the “compliments” women get from men is just sexual/objectifying comments that they claim is a “cOmpLimEnT”.

I have a love-hate relationship with men opening doors, especially having grown up in and now returned to the Deep South. It should, ideally, work both ways: you come in first, someone is close behind, whoever is there first just holds the door. It's common courtesy. You just don't let it slam in someone's face.

However, I cannot stand it when men make a huge PRODUCTION out of holding the door; then it gets into performative chivalry, wanting a cookie just for being a good human, blah blah. I've been known to whip out my phone and just stand there -- URGENT text I must reply to RIGHT THEN! or just turn around, because I "forgot" something... somewhere.
