I used to feel bad about blocking but now I don’t anymore! I block LVM/NVM who did nothing but disrespect me. One guy got so mad I left him on read after he gave me a one word response before he drunkenly passed out on his couch, he then said he was gonna leave me on read the next time I texted him. I blocked his ass and he couldn’t speak to me again. Major bullet dodged, it was going to be exhausting arguing with him trying to explain myself. My past pickme self would have felt so sorry for him I would’ve given him another chance, but after leveling up I don’t feel bad I cut him off

I can attest to this. I stop worrying about the dreaded “three months later” text or call and can actually move on instead of just pretending to do so. It forces me to dead the idea of the guy completely, which is necessary because I was a hopeless pickmeisha for the longest.

I love blocking guys! It feels so freeing.

I imagine myself walking on a path towards my goals, and these past LVM's are lurking in the bushes beside the walkway. Every now and then one of them will stick his hands out of a bush and try to grab my ankle. The block button eliminates these guys completely so I don't have to waste any mental energy shaking them off of me. I can continue on my path, happy, free and clear headed.

Ex boyfriends who disrespected me, attempted to belittle me, were jealous of me: "hey stranger..." BLOCK!

Former FWB who started to develop early onset ED so I ghosted him: "hey beautiful what are u up to this weekend 😏" BLOCK!

Guy who I went on one date with and never spoke to again: "Hey, just checking in, how are you?" BLOCK!

Former coworker who pretended to be friends with me and then tried to beg me to have sex with him only for me to turn him down in disgust: "hey how are you??" BLOKITY BLOCK!

Couldn't agree more. Just blocked a guy couple minutes ago actually. I liked him, went out with him and it was great. Then he turned into an absolute moron over text and treated me completely different...

Love bombed me to shit at first and today he started treating me like an option. Nope. Fuck you. I'm not gonna be someone's option. Your loss, bye!

Didn't even bother to tell him to go fuck himself, blocking felt like something heavy fell off me after the last convo. It really is therapeutic.

Yesssss! I started unfriending/blocking guys who have no need to be in my life on social media and blocking them in my phone. I realized the only reason I had them was for an ego boost… but for what? That they want to fuck me? That’s not happening. It’s really been a mind fuck (in a good way) for me to stop using my sexuality to get attention that doesn’t even serve me and start using my femininity for myself.

I had a guy I knew in college hit me up the other day and I blocked him. He was a waste of my time. He made it clear months ago that he was only interested in FWB. I’m not. He’s sniffing around to see if I’m so hard up for dick that I’ll fuck him. Not. Happening.

This is so true! For the past few days, I’ve been talking to this guy on OLD, and he seemed solid until he said that he thought OLD was a numbers game, and he was swiping on as many woman he thought was cute. That set me off, but I was hesitant to unmatch. I then started to see how much of a bad person he was. I kept telling myself that it was nothing 🤡 and when he stopped talking to me, I gave him 24-48 hours to respond 🤡. Queens please do not be dumb like me. The waiting gave me anxiety and stressed me out. I kept thinking he’d change his mind 🤡. Whenever he didn’t respond to my replies it was like a nightmare lol 🤡

Blocking/ unmatching was the best thing ever! It was never gonna happen between us because of the distance and his low effort was giving me anxiety. It was better for me stop the conversation so that I could give myself a peace of mind. There is no longer a maybe or a what if scenario with him. It’s a giant “no”.

Ladies, it is okay to cut them off at any moment when it starts to bother you.

The sooner the block the easier and better it is, too.

If you get into a relationship with someone you should’ve blocked, that guilty programming comes in even more bc you’re 🤮 bonded to someone who didn’t deserve your energy at all. Once you’ve given them too much attention and time, blocking gets hardddd. When I return to the dating world, I’m going to start blocking before any intimacy occurs.

The very best is blocking without any explanation—you don’t owe him one. No long diatribes on how he is a NVM bottom dweller, no spelling out exactly how he hurt you, no witty one liners, nothing. Literally all the time you have for him is the 3 seconds it takes to block. It’s the most satisfying 😌

I’ve always felt guilty about blocking until this past fall. Between FB and IG I’ve had the same dude try to add me and DM me for a few years. I’ve always ignored him because we had only one mutual and I wasn’t interested in talking to some rando dude. I went against my gut feeling to block him because I felt guilty about it, even though I had no intention of talking to him, I still felt guilty so ignored him. He even tried calling me on fb messenger a couple of times! I know, I know, my backbone didn’t grow in until I hit 30 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Around the end of October, I decided to dip my toe into OLD (I’ve never tried it before) and I was vibing with a few guys I matched with just having casual conversation. One of my matches was a bit more forward and I wasn’t responding to him right away and he then messaged me “oh btw my name is ____” and instantly a light bulb went off. I looked him up on FB and wouldn’t you know it’s been the same guy that’s been trying to talk to me for YEARS. I instantly blocked him on every social media I could think of and deleted my OLD profiles feeling so creeped out and uncomfortable.

Moral of the story, BLOCK. Trust your gut feeling please!!!

This is my weakness. I would love to think that my abusive ex was left just as destroyed as I was, that he's anguishing and beating himself up, but he's not. Him continuing to reach out a year later despite me going complete no-contact and never responding is a textbook narcissistic response to being the one discarded. They're so arrogant and prideful that they can't stand that they weren't the one who discarded you.

I blocked all his numbers and accounts but then he started using burners to get through via those sites/apps that'll generate random numbers they can call or text you from so you can never truly prevent them from contacting you. And I unfortunately still read his emails because blocking an email address just sends their emails to your spam folder, which I check in case anything important gets miscategorized. I wish I had the willpower to just immediately delete without reading but I don't. 😔

This helped me tremendously. I blocked an ex yesterday without saying the words “we are broken up” after my fifth attempt at ending it. I felt horrible because he had been treating me halfway decently, as in, hadn’t even gotten mad at me in two weeks and finally booked us the trip he’d been promising since the beginning. I told him that he clearly has a porn addiction and he responded that he doesn’t deny that it influenced his sexuality but behind his aggression and objectification was a fear of vulnerability. I told him “I don’t have to listen to this” and blocked him.

I realize how absurd this was, but I was feeling guilty for hurting him when he finally admitted some amount of fault.

This reminded me that he doesn’t really care because he knew all along how unhappy I was. Onto better things!

Blocking people who no longer contribute to our growth in general is therapeutic. From 300+ followers on Instagram, I only have 117 now and they are all people whom I went to high school or college with or know in person. I have removed people whom I am no longer in talking terms to because I do not want them to be prying on my life either. So yes, blocking in general is therapeutic
