I was wondering what’s FDS’ opinion on casually dating when you’re in your early 20s before you want to settle down.

I have been on this sub for almost two years I think, so I am fully versed in the handbook and the majority of FDS principles. I understand that for the women that want to date, they are seeking a HVM.

I am college-aged and have no dating experience at all. There is not much else that a man can give me that I don’t already give myself. I have love and companionship from friends, family and my cat. I have so many hobbies and goals so my free time is rarely abundant. I feel quite fulfilled in most aspects. When I think about it, it’s really just romance, more money than what I have right now, that physical safety aspect and having someone that can do the “manly” things that I can’t do. Even then, I don’t need romance, I am contracted for a high paying job with brilliant prospects once so graduate, I can adopt a rottweiler and learn how to fix a sink on YouTube.

I am not looking to marry someone yet but for the sake of experience and romance, I would like to start dating. I would follow the handbook and vet for HVM. But since I am not yet planning on marrying, I just wonder if this is a waste or if I’m diluting the dating pool, taking away a HVM from women who want to marry?

This isn’t about casual sex by the way, I am fully against that as we all know that doesn’t benefit us.
