Don’t save his number in your phone. Trust me on this one.

When we romanticize about things, we form strong attachments to them. When we give things a name, we begin to form strong bonds and emotions towards them.

This is the same for a man that you’re vetting. He does not deserve to be named in your phone unless he’s proved himself to be high value and has earned a spot in your life.

Why? I recommend this for two reasons:

1) Easier to block and delete if shit hits the fan and he disrespects you. The likelihood of you remembering what his number was is slim to none.

2) Saving a name in your phone means you’re more likely to build some sort of attachment to that person in question.

I have names saved from eons ago and I was alerted to this when I restored my phone during a backup. I can confidently say I don’t remember more than half of those names saved in my phone. They didn’t earn the right to become a name in my phone. They were forgettable, most likely due to disrespect.

If you really want to “name” a guy in your phone, name him with an emoji or with a hilarious name. It will be easier to let go if things don’t work out.
