And the reason women do text first is because they know that a guy is supposed to be texting them at that moment but the woman has a need to be proactive and try to do it if the guy isn't doing it.

Notice when a man isn't making you feel secure. When you're initiating a lot of the dates or texting. He's just not that into you. Cut off the grey area and confusion. My pet peeve is men who text first, ask you out with absolutely no plan and then try to put it back on you to organise something. It’s like seriously, if I wanted to do something I’m perfectly capable of texting you (but I don’t and I won’t).

I experimented a little with leading, but when it got to the point where I had to show him on a map where the subway station was because he clearly wasn’t going to figure it out....I didn’t feel empowered, I didn’t feel enamored of my little prince...it felt....wrong? Mother like? Gross? I don’t know, but it did not correlate with my energy at all. Like even the photo on this post makes me feel weird.

But don’t some women like this kind of thing? Ones with masculine energy? It would seem so. More power to them, it’ll give some feminine energy (or just lazy) men some place to go and keep them out of my hair.

I will never in my life “shoot my shot first” as a woman, no matter how much it is encouraged these days. That is masculine energy. Why would I try to be masculine when I want someone who is masculine? If a man isn’t texting you first, he is not that into you and that’s fine. There are many men out there who are crazy to get the opportunity to even talk to you, and are more than willing to send you the first text without even thinking about it. Let go and move on :)

When I started using Tinder around three years ago, I almost always texted first. Mostly I had to carry the conversations or I didn't get a reply at all. If I didn't text first, the guys would stay silent until they or me unmatched eventually. There were only a few who texted first and could actually carry on the conversation.

For the past few months I've been having a rule that if they don't text me in the first three days, unmatch they go. If they text first but it withers because I have to carry it, unmatch they go. If there's more than three days between replies, unmatch they go. So most of the time I don't have any matches 🤷‍♀️🤭

If they're actually interested and are hvm, they will text, they will be proactive, they will want to talk with you, they will ask questions. They are vetting too, they don't want pickmeishas.
