I must say, as a single mom myself, that I’ve never felt more supported and not judged as I have on this sub. I sincerely appreciate every without child woman here who has our backs and understands that we can be great friends and advocates for you, too! Being a single mom definitely has its challenges in regards to judgments from others, but I’ve always felt nothing but respect here. Thank you!

I saw a post today that asked what’s a sub you wished you’d never have looked at. We were mentioned 5-6 times at that time with 10-15 agreeing comments per mention. Along with literally the most disgusting corners of the net like rape stories and countless snuff / gore subs.

Crazy that we are so gross and problematic to humans when we are one of the only women’s exclusive spaces. Surprise! We talk about the hard times we’ve had at the hands of men and how to avoid them. OH NO!

Single mothers are a hated and abused demographic. The only way they are supported, that I’ve seen is on the bromo or child free kinda accidentally. This space does not support single mothers and I’m so thankful that if they find us they feel supported.

I only found this sub when googling my abusive relationship 3 year’s ago. I’m thankful I did.

I always wanted children. I knew it would be ‘hard’. I’m just now SEEING how much harder it was BECAUSE of my husband, and my heart is breaking for myself.

Society’s message on single moms creeps in, and poisoned me. “This terrible shit is happening BUT AT LEAST IM NOT SINGLE.” Gaslighting myself.

No, darling. If you were single, it would have been challenging AND you’d be wrapped in love and support. You wouldn’t be trying to swim with a literal anchor tied to you, dragging you down. You’d be making small improvements over the days and weeks and years, not stagnant or backwards for years.

Oh I can’t stand the single parents sub. There are a few loudmouth hero dads who take over every discussion and the mods are so desperate for male approval they don’t do a thing about it. Single moms should start their only woman-only sub but in the meantime, they’re welcome here anytime!!

I’m a single mom and I feel like I have been shitted on my entire life till this sub.

Yes, I had my daughter at 20yo and struggled to raise her. Her dad denied her and I upgraded her dad to someone who adopted her at 3weeks old. Even then, my family always shitted on me for having a kid so young. Me and her dad split when she was 10yo but he still the best dad to her and her brother.

I’m so glad my daughter is now 22yo and does not want to have kids any time soon. I raised a BOSS ASS WOMAN!!! Ok but my entire life I was judged.

This sub has helped me get over a lot of self doubt and gave me a pathway to better my self. I seriously love you guys like your my sisters ♥️

Honestly wish sometimes it was my dad who cheated and left because when my mom checked out when I was young my dad was clueless to how to raise me. No more Girl Scouts, no more play dates, no more having breakfast made for me, ever, and no more help getting clothes.

When my mom left it seriously affected me. My dad was engaged to my now step mom literally 5 months after they divorced. Another five months and I was in another country, ripped from my support network and everything I knew and I was expected to just cope.🙃

Thankfully my step mom turned out to be pretty great and I love her but I still never got back that part of my childhood, I stopped being a child at 10 and it still stings years later.

Single moms get mad respect from me. They had the strength and resolve to leave an abuser and set a good example for their daughters of what is unacceptable treatment from men, and to show sons that perpetrating abuse is never acceptable. Motherhood is shat upon by society by a large, whether they call single motherhood a "failed marriage" or "broken home", or devalue the unpaid labour of married mothers.

Single dads to me are sus. I know of a lot of fathers who go for 50/50 custody to avoid paying child support, then pawn the kids off on grandma during their parenting time. Then there are abusive fathers who go for full custody to hurt and control the mother and take her to court for maximum child support and litigate every extra penny they can for other activities. I just can't with these "warrior single dads". Most describe the non custodial mother of their children as "crazy", "pyscho", "unfit", etc.

I wont even so much as breathe in the general direction of a single dad, since I know how the majority of them came to have 50/50 or more custody. In 70% of cases where DV was brought up with proof (hospitalizations, arrest records, photos, journals, etc) the judges handed the child to the abuser, full custody.

This is so heartwarming to read as a single Mum! I left a 12 year relationship (with 2 kids in tow) because I found this sub a year previously and knew my gut instinct that I wasn't in the right relationship was something I needed to follow; it was THIS sub that gave me the confidence to realise I could be so much happier and that I should put myself first for once.

My ex wasn't abusive (well, not physically), but he lacked communication skills and respect for me and he put work first. I took 90% of the childcare anyway (so when he left I barely noticed, I actually get MORE of a break now because when he's off, he actually has the kids at his place and I'm not there!) and I have never regretted it for a second.

My children are happy, my business has thrived (I'm now earning double what I earned at any job and doing something I love) and I was finally able to do everything he held me back from (he wouldn't ever let me decorate the house or buy things to make it look nice so I've renovated since we split and the house is now a place I love)!

Sorry for the essay, it was just a huge decision for me to make (as there was no definitive reason such as cheating) and I was petrified about what it would mean for me and the kids, but it turned out to be the BEST decision I ever made. 👑

On a side note, any man I've met since has been an absolute LVM scrote but thank god I'm now happy enough to kick them to the curb at the first red flag and know I can be happy on my own if needs be.
