Maybe this is just an American thing. I'm not talking about professional comedians. I'm talking about your average Tom, Dick, and Harry. The more I interact with men, the more I date, the more conversations I have with them, the more struck I am by the fact that nearly all of them aren't funny. Like, at all. I can think of four men I personally know who absolutely crack me up. One's gay, one's bi and from Pakistan, one's French, and one's my childhood friend. They just know how to deliver a joke. They're clever and dry, witty and self-aware.

This lack of humor in men is very apparent on OLD. I was bored out of my mind reading these guys' profiles. If not outright sexual, their responses to prompts are decidedly dull and unimaginative.

Lately I've had my profile switched to show me both men and women, and omg the difference is huuuge. Women are sooo funny and not in a boring, predictable way that some of these men who are "almost funny" are, but in such a clever and creative way. Seriously, if you haven't set your app to look at women's profiles, you should check it out. I could not stop laughing. Their profiles were just so well done.

I'm kind of losing hope on ever finding a guy who can make me laugh or is funnier than me.
