Loool. Reminds me of my well meaning but LV dad. I recently told him that lockdown was getting to me and I really needed to leave the house to get some air. He came round (back when it was ok to visit someone) and made a big fuss of taking me out, asked me get ready, we get in the car aaand then he turns around and asks me 'so where are we going?'

I burst out laughing. Here was his big plan to save me from the lockdown blues but he still required me to plan what we were going to do. Don't ask me to do the emotional labour for my own rescue mission lol.

Men can be well meaning and still be low value by showing no initiative. I love my dad but he's a bit clueless sometimes 🤦

honestly if they do this don't bother. I had a guy do this and I responded with " im new town idk anything here what do u think" and he did follow through and take me to a nice restaurant. asked me out on a second date and then again asked me what I wanted to do and again I was like "idk lol whatever im new in town". he texted me after saying he had a good time, texted me the next day to see how im doing. then when it came time to plan the next weekend texted me how am I doing on Sunday rather than actually ask me out properly. convo died, haven't heard since. so annoying. only good dates I've ever been on is when a guy took initiative without me having to drag it out of him.

A while ago I was on OLD and started talking to a guy who kept talking about how fortunate he was and how much money he has. He kept insisting I pick a place for our date. I asked him a few times if he had a preference on the area and cuisine. He kept saying it didn't matter to him. I picked a restaurant on a lake that I knew was pricy but didn't know exactly how bad. Well, the bill arrived and it was nearly $300. He was rather shocked and murmured something that he didn't expect it to be that much. I kinda felt bad because there was 0 chemistry and we both knew it. Nonetheless as he walked me to my car he asked if I'd come to his house to "check it out". I smiled, told him I wasn't comfortable going to a stranger's house, got in my car and left. I never heard from him again. I did feel bad about the amount of money he had to spend but hey, if you as a guy don't want to put in the effort, it can end up being pricey 🤷🏼‍♀️
