Yeah but when I read 11 my first thought was myself at 11. I was a child! I’d hadn’t had braces yet. Hadn’t had a period yet. I don’t think I’d ever shaved my legs. I loved those glittery gel pens. My favorite movie was probably Beauty and the Beast or something like that. I was a child!

I didn’t see this movie until I was 29 and that’s one of the first scenes, it was super weird to me how all the friends who were watching with me just ignored that part and were like “no, he’s great, Indiana Jones is the hero.” Like... I get it was the 80s but still ew, she’s obviously not old enough in the movie to have been a adult “ten years ago”. When you really start to look, there’s pedophilic influence all throughout Hollywood and pop culture and it’s disgusting to me that it’s this open secret and no one in power (mostly men, but there are some women in positions of power now) does anything.

Yep. Carrie Fisher was based AF. She came from a Hollywood family but because her mom was quite narcissistic - she wasn’t protected. She was most definetly exploited by the industry...
For younger FDSers, the film “Postcards From The Edge” is about Carrie Fisher ( played by Meryl Streep) and Debbie Reynolds ( played by Shirley MacLaine) mother daughter relationship. It’s a comedy and walks you through Carrie Fishers struggles and also shows her dealing with a barrage of LVMs in Hollywood.

In the script and the movie we have a narrative that plants the seed of normalising paedophilic behaviour. The exposure of viewers to such behaviour can have long-term effects on what they consider permissible. Especially as a lot of men admire the male lead.
Also notice the suggestion of making her seem promiscuous. The scripts are creepy and give a chilling insight into depraved views of these famous producers.
