If all somebody has dated are manbabies, then a functional male adult does initially look like a rainbow unicorn! lol This is, in part, what we should look for, however. I’m not against making soup and putting a straw in a bottle of Gatorade for a partner, but I don’t coddle adults.

As an aside, I briefly dated a man who claimed his mom wasn’t very nurturing. I think that’s sad, but also not my responsibility. At least he let me know upfront that he was looking for somebody to compensate for that period in his life. It let me know I needed to exit.
