Once I realized this, my mindset changed. Either he’s ALL in or he’s ALL out. Nothing else matters. No more looking for “signs”, “clues” or overanalyzing his behavior.

Also, don’t believe excuses like: He is too shy, he has anxiety, or he lacks confidence.

If he hasn’t sorted out those issues then they will cause other problems in a relationship. He is not ready for a relationship emotionally.

I’ve seen the most shy men propel themselves into action when it’s someone they really want. If he’s so shy or low in confidence that he cannot pursue the woman he wants, then he’s that way in many areas of life and probably an all around loser.

And I say this as someone who has been shy. It’s a social skill issue and it holds you back from being high value. And it’s NOT the same as introversion (which is healthy and doesn’t mean poor social skills).

its not just that, some guys are just fuckboys by nature. they like to have a "harem" of women around them for validation. usually its the guys who didn't receive enough attention in childhood and turn to women for validation and approval in their adulthood. you cannot turn a fuckboy into a husband. even if you're the "lucky" woman he chooses to settle down with, once the shine is gone he will discard you or cheat on you just like he has done with every other woman before you. avoid at all costs.

If he truly interested, he will do the work. He will be the first to text, call, dm, & etc. Don’t waste energy on a fuckboy who’s keeping you on the back burner. Ain’t nobody got time for that energy!

The first time I was interested in someone I sent mixed signals; j felt awful, at the time, it was cause I was living with an abusive make family member (my father,) and was afraid unconsciously afraid of what he'd do to me due to covert sexual abuse and covert sexual threats. It was too painful to be aware of cause everyone was complicit. It was a "I really really want you but I'm also afraid of the increased abuse this will ensure" kind of thing.

It was the most like, reversed relationship ever; guy was super decent and direct with his feelings about me, and I was the "trash."

I'm so worried cause like someday I'd like to date again but back then, this was before porn was fucking rampant, neither myself or the guy I was interested in even got cell phones till we were 15. He would do these sweet "grand gestures" and I would just like... meet him half way or send confusing signals and I know it hurt him a lot.

Sorry I like recently had old traumas come up and needed to vent and like this made me think of this.

Because of my "father" I never got to experience romantic love and now we have damn hook up culture I'm worried there are no decent ones left.

And I never stopped feeling guilty over the mixed signals shit. I was just frozen stiff scared. I feel like a bad person.

But I guess I was a kid but as an adult definitely do not do this shit. I hear of so many men doing this to their interests. (Idk what the excuse would be to do this as an adult.)

Block, delete and ghost him. There are thousands of other men out there who at least have the potential to appreciate you. Once you realize the abundance of other options, you'll see how easy it is to walk from waffely men.
