I don’t get this either. Creating a child is much bigger deal than marrying so I don’t buy the excuse “oh marriage is something very serious and we need to be sure we’re ready” 🤡 IF I ever get accidentally pregnant, I am expecting a ring and a wedding planned before I get fat. Or I am having an abortion.

Accidents happen? A situation like this is why FDS recommends waiting to have sex, using effective birth control, and thoroughly vetting.

On the 1% chance that birth control fails and you go thru with the pregnancy, you need to be damn sure this man will be an active parent and provider to his child.

I'm typically against marriage, but this situation sounds like they're basically "married" to their men in every way but legally...so they miss out on the protections and benefits marriage provides. Just plain dumb honestly.

I’m coming in here to be the voice of dissent and say that for women with high net worths, single motherhood in the eyes of the law may be more beneficial than having children in a married coupling.

Custody laws favour the primary caregiver, which the mom can afford to be if she’ a successful entrepreneur.

It also means she has rights to her property in case of a breakup if she makes the father sign a lease/ cohabitation agreement in order to live with her in her property.

She also gets to keep 100 of her earnings as it’s not earned during a marriage.

It’s the shrewd move, and I am in agreement with whatever decision ends in maximum female benefit. As long as she doesn’t live in an area with common law marriage, she should be fine.

Because they’re wearing brand name watches or tshirts? Just because home boy has a nice haircut and NIKEs that he flashes online doesn’t mean he buys his child nice things. How many scrotes have you read about here that buy themselves fancy computers, hunting gear, anime figurines, etc. but won’t give 50/50 to his woman and child.

Because they film themselves dressed up nice and meeting for a meal with the kid? Big whoop he shows up for one meal during the week while she feeds and clothes this child 24/7 the rest of the week.

Or is it that mom and dad seem to be friendly and not fight while they’re both modeling for the camera and using their child as a prop? A persona on camera has nothing to do with the aggression and abuse these men are capable of. There is a reason she doesn’t live with him. There is a reason she took herself and her child away when she had the chance. Being peaceable at one meal in front of the camera doesn’t mean shit.

Being attractive does not guarantee being high value. Obviously she was attracted when they made a baby, and she still left him!

Social media is all a lie and it’s all a curated persona that they’re trying to sell to you as the truth.

Growing up in the Deep South, I overheard many conversations from my parents that getting "knocked up" before marriage was pretty trashy behavior; this was the 70s and 80s. My sister married and divorced a LVM because she wanted to have a child, and she settled, just so she could have the child she wanted in wedlock. So down here, the respectability politics were real. It's less so now. Ever so slowly, the South is coming into the 21st century. I do know that when I was in college in the late 80s/early 90s, and lived with my first husband before marriage, I wasn't disrespected, but I noticed I wasn't held in as high regard, and I can't tell you exactly how or why, but I noticed.

There was one incident of this one woman I worked with in grad school that just rubbed me all kinds of wrong ways. She was married, whereas most of us weren't since this WAS grad school. Then she had a baby. I and others were student workers, and she was practically deified by the woman who oversaw us; she had never had kids of her own, perhaps couldn't. I just remember feeling distinctly less than, and feeling a LOT of contempt for someone who had simply gone through a legal ceremony and then popped out a kid as being more worthy of respect. It was then I began to realize that so much of society is just made up hierarches that are pretty meaningless. That deification of marriage and motherhood especially just seem to be celebrating most women's enslavement to patriarchal expectations.

I have a few friends who live in serious monoganous relationships with kids and are not married. Both times it's the woman who insisted against getting married because they do not consider the legal setting as neccessary. Each of he fathers have shared child custody and they live like being married without being married. Imo If they don't want to get married it's their decision. Still there never has been a doubt from one of the fathers that it is a serious commited relationship

I was always very clear that I was only willing to have children under very specific circumstances, the most important one was being married.

My ex knew I wanted marriage more than children, so he secretly asked my BFF what to pick and got me the engagement ring that I wanted even though he was in the ‘rings are a waste of money camp’. If they know you’re serious about it, they’ll buy that ring and marry you.

Men will always try to get away with things if they can, even the Medium Value Men. But if they know it’s a non negotiable, all of a sudden they know how to do the right thing.

A HVM would want marriage before kids and would probably ask you before you wonder when it’s going to happen.

Most of those women purposefully get pregnant by high status, rich men for the check. It NEVER seemed worth it to me, but maybe it’s not so bad raising them with nannies mothering off camera?

There’s a reason why women like Blac Chyna have slept with countless men but only get pregnant by and keep rich high status men’s children. I will say most children out of wedlock are born genuinely by accident but LVM play stupid games and win stupid prizes with pick mes everyday then cry about it for 18 years. Please.
