And no being anyone’s therapist; so sick of women expensing their mental health for a man who don’t give two fucks about them

Yes so true. It’s far too common. Especially when it comes to addictions.

Many women are unknowingly in “place holder” relationships.
One is greater than zero. Having you is better than nothing, but if by chance he can get the girl of his dreams you will get dumped with the swiftness.
Not only is the placeholder used for her body, she is also used for her mind and love; helping to improve him for the next chick.
The whole dynamic is very toxic for women. That’s why it’s best to WITHDRAW completely if he’s not giving you his all... he’s not your guy.

Yes they use women for target practice regularly, and they OPENLY admit to it once they finally get their dream woman! I previously posted an example:

"He's not your guy" I needed to hear this
[–]finalbosskittenFDS STRATEGY COACH162 points163 points164 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes!! This is just so insidious in nature because the outstanding pressure is to lower your standards (even past "being treated well"); it is NOT a virtue to give anyone a chance. Love isn't some charity drive or gas station rest stop until you finally your human Sangri-La to monkey branch ingloriously and drunkenly off to.
Not sure if it's something like political correctness or Disney-washing or what...it's just so common to justify this. To encourage people coming apart on the seams, full of vulnerabilities or toxicity that only could corrupt others...that they should find love, even when they can't even see the world with clarity, nor truly choose with all their minds and hearts. I see nothing beautiful in subjecting others to misery and weakness without a happy foundation...or putting yourself in that situation when you're so vulnerable...it's merely cruelty.

Please girls, put this on your fridge or find a way of reading it over and over again until you get it!
When I was a pickmeisha years ago, I'd do everything for men and even did stupid stuff like borrowing money, offering to pay stuff, help them with work, etc. Some of these guys were love bombing me/interested in the beginning, others weren't. But the main point is:
it never developed to a relationship and not much time later they met the woman of their dreams with whom they finally committed and some of them even ended up marrying her.
I heard countless times the: you're an amazing girl and any man would be lucky to have you, I'm just not in love with you. Or the classical: it's not you it's me. Or: I don't know, I think I'm not there yet.
No, they don't owe you loving you or an actual relationship just because you were ride or die or were always there for them and you made that choice BUT if you're doing all this stuff waiting for love and happy ever after by doing this, STOP. It's not gonna happen.
If you're not married to them you have no business bending yourself backwards for them and even if you're married don't over do it.
[–]FluffandRaincloudsFDS Disciple26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Right-- they do not owe us, but the men themselves and PickMes spread the lie that's how we earn a ride or die man . Hah!
[–]AnniaTFDS Disciple36 points37 points38 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree. Some of them will give you the hope that if you ride or die they'll fall in love with you and that's a lie. Also look at the famous men who ditched the ride or die girlfriend who supported them before they got famous and then dump them when they're accomplished in their career.

I was a placeholder and financial supporter for 8 years in my last relationship. He left me and got married a year later to someone almost 10 years younger.
I certainly dodged a bullet because he was a little bitch, but boy oh boy did that one wake me up.

He was able to extract resources from you in the past, so once he runs into some problems with his wife he will try to see if you are still available to him. Don't let him.
Did he try to "remain friends" after the break up?
[–]SarcasmSlideFDS Disciple41 points42 points43 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Oh did he. He continued to text me on the sly, even complaining that his wife doesn’t have enough sex with him. 🙄 When we were together he always put me down for being more experienced and for being so good in bed, although it was obviously one of the few things he liked about me. Imagine that.
They have since had a child, of course, and I blocked him years ago. I spent a tremendous amount of time in therapy and getting sober. I moved on to build a life with a HVM who treats me like a goddess. I was a Pickmesha my entire life and feel like I’ve been reborn with self-love and respect. Hang in there, ladies.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
I did this for a guy for a year. Obviously yours is so much worse but I felt the same as you. So what are we supposed to do? If we aren’t supportive I don’t think men will view us as long term either
[–]SarcasmSlideFDS Disciple23 points24 points25 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I look at it as: support is earned. In order to get the commitment shit, you have to do the commitment shit. His actions and his words were very clear but I didn’t want to see or hear.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What counts as commitment shit? like introducing you to his parents?
[–]SarcasmSlideFDS Disciple22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s a great example! Others I would include, all of which my HVM partner did:
I could go on all day. Because of all that and more, I give him my loyalty and strength. The old me had it backwards: I thought if I displayed enough loyalty and strength, they would choose to commit to me. Now I know better. Good men are willing to earn that shit.
[–]DelicateDreamFDS Disciple5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nah. They’ll be eager to show you off for many reasons that have nothing to do with genuine emotional commitment. They’ll do this for status points, not because they feel serious about you. For obvious reasons it’s still better than him “hiding” you. But don’t place a ton of significance on it. If it’s not extremely obvious commitment then it means little and usually benefits him more.
Commitment means not talking or showing but DOING - taking actions that are difficult to reverse and don’t primarily benefit him. Actions which invest in YOU. This can be emotional or material, but frankly it’s easier to measure materially. A ring and wedding date with deposits put down are good examples. Moving in together so you can split bills and do his laundry is NOT a longterm commitment move. Future talk is also meaningless. Him giving you emotional support is meaningful though, but don’t confuse that with him sharing his emotions. It has to be about supporting YOU, which LVM are allergic to.
You’ll notice LVM complain about giving two things if they don’t get what they want in return quickly - emotional support and financial resources. That’s primarily how they invest in you. HVM understand investment takes time if you’re HVW so they don’t do low effort in these areas and then cut out if they don’t get sex or free therapy right away.
Tl:dr Investments of the emotional and material variety that primarily benefit you show commitment in action. HVM who is working to get YOU to commit to him views these investments as a long-term strategy for the payoff of winning you as his permanent partner; LVM who wants to use you for his benefit will invest as little as possible for maximum immediate and selfish gratification and only for as long as it suits him.

There is a difference between being supportive as in being there for them, listening and motivating but at the same time don't bending backwards or being a doormat and enabling, being their therapist, financing them, accepting being their support without them doing anything for you or courting you ever.

[–]Unlikely-MarzipanFDS Disciple66 points67 points68 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly. Honestly, I believe people who leave for other people are unhealthy. If you’re not happy, break up and then find someone. Well, in the case of people who have issues especially. I kind of get it in abusive situations though. But it’s not great. But more in this situation, when it’s a decent or good relationship, and they have all these issues and they leave for someone else - you can bet they will do it to the next person.
[–]ResponsibleCharacterPickmeisha™️27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fax. Branch swinging is indicative of a broken person. If someone is willing to drag a relationship out while actively or even passively looking for someone new... they are fundamentally dishonest and weak. Intellectually, spiritually, emotionally weak. Stay away from the man who wants to leave his chick for you, ladies.
[–]AudiovisualHoe22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah, exactly what i was going to say. dudes like this are always looking for the next best thing. they could have the objectively most amazing and beautiful woman and they’d still be looking for something “better” ... aka new. then once they got to know the new woman as an actual human being and not a silent sex object/social media object they’re onto the next.

Umm nah. That's called leading people on and lying. No way would a guy say that to the girl that's providing everything at that time. What's more likely is that he'll be acting like she's the love of his life and give her no reason to believe that he's a fraud, then if he ever sets sone side chick up, he'll leave when he thinks she'll let him move in or take over roles that his gf was filling, because he's too much of a little child to stand on his own 2 feet and live his own life.
