Nothing infuriates me like men talking about their wives in this way. Sometimes I like to follow up with “I’m sorry, are you on the verge of divorce or struggling with your marriage?” And they’ll occasionally realize this is not something you say about your loving partner.

This has been my mission in life since hearing my own father say "we've been married for 29 years and I could have murdered someone, under a life sentence I would be free by now" repeatedly.
If you have nothing nice to say about your life long partner then why even bother on all counts? I started holding up a mirror to these mofos so they would start being accountable for how they make people feel. It doesn't make anyone feel good. It's not even funny.

This goes right along with the “I can’t leave her because of the kids” logic. They keep a woman around and treat her like garbage because she provides stability, meanwhile they are still able to do everything they want. It’s disgusting, but honestly it’s the women who allow it by not setting the bar higher and not leaving when this kind of treatment is a pattern.

yep, i basically ask “have you tried communicating how you feel?” and he laughs it off. it really annoys me because 1. i know he’s playing into the american sitcom trope even though my parents are immigrants and that’s not how our culture talks about spouses, and 2. why would you teach me, your daughter, that it’s acceptable for a husband to rag on his wife to other people?
i love my dad and he’s still the most intelligent man i know, but quarantine has taught me that i could never marry a man like him.

Why do you THINK most of them will stay in a miserable marriage rather than leave and be on their own? Because they don't want to split the assets and they don't want to have to live on their own and cook their own meals and clean their own homes and schedule their own dental appointments and do their own laundry and parent their own kids for days at a time without anyone to hand them off to, and all the other hundreds of things their mommy wives always did FOR them.
That's why most of them STAY married for life and act like the sleazebags they ARE when they're out of her sight.

Facts.
My parents have been living in different cities, for a few years now (but are still married, and refuse to say they’re separated lmao, mainly fathers choice).
And since then my father (50) lives in a house infested with bugs (his own doing). He never cleans anything. Maybe once in a blue moon he will only vacuum his bedroom. The kitchen is so disgusting, you wouldn’t even want to drink water from the tap, let alone eat anything that’s been there.
He isn’t disabled physically or mentally, nor does he suffer with mental illnesses, he’s quite robust actually. He’s just a pathetic man-child who has been relying on his mommy-wife-maid to cook, clean, and keep the house in order, since his early 20s.
He doesn’t even wash his clothes properly. He’s been using the same towel for years now and has never thought of throwing it in the wash. It fucking reeks. The whole place is worse than a barn. And yet through all this he still thinks men are superior.
Men are so pathetic. Their lame misogynistic patriarchy has made them incompetent. Their own system has worked against them lmao. A literal fish out of water. And they act like they’re the superior sex. Sure baby boy, whatever you gotta do to keep your false sense of power lmao. But you all know deep down, you are nothing but worthless without women.
Oh and my mother (49) is thriving in her own little house. Would be proud of her if she found the courage to just divorce him, but at least she’s slowly becoming immune to the pickme virus.

I remember VIVIDLY in college telling a guy that was making disgusting remarks about woman that his sexisism towards women was not helping society. He replied "with that attitude you are never going to get married." These guys think that getting married is a goal for women which they get no benefit from, so women should shut up and put up with the most aberrant behavior if they want the wedding. In a way he is right because I bet he found a woman that married him and raised kids for him.

Lol. My dad called me a few weeks ago on his wedding anniversary and went on a 15 minute rant about how much of a saint he is for putting up with this for so long and that he deserves a medal for it. Then he said it’s been 18 years, I guess that’s how long I stayed with your mother huh.
