Walk dates seem to be getting more common. Even before FDS this guy that dated my friend asked me on a walk date a few months after they broke up. We had been talking as friends (or so I thought) and he was gonna be in town playing a gig. I said great id love to come see the show and id bring my girl friends as they were both single and looking. I also suggested we get a nice sit down meal at a mom and pop for burritos. ... nope. The dude shut down it all and said he was only interested in hanging out with me and how about I meet up with him at a trail so I can walk his dog with him? He was trying to sell me on the fact that "she's a good girl and you can throw her some sticks sometimes she will fetch!"

This was Years before I had a lot of relationship experience or heard of FDS. Even then I was really confused as to why he didn't like my idea and wanted me to drive an hour and a half to walk his dog with him? Even then I knew it was lousy and I felt insulated. I told him no way you can walk your dog yourself and I was just trying to hangout and be supportive that you had a gig in town. I didn't bother meeting with him for anything and kept declining the dog park as he wasn't liking "no". A few days later he tried hitting me up to come over to his moms basement to watch Netflix. I then understood 100% he wasn't a friend and just trying to get in my pants. I stopped contact with him after that. Thankfully I never met up with him!

Lvs act so butthurt that we are too good for walks but its not worth our time and energy to do essentially a chore / paid job for them (people actually pay for a dog walking service). Ive seen a lot of posts where the lvs try to use corona as an excuse... um they can Venmo money or an e giftcard for dinner and you can Skype a date. Don't actually give them your address to send the food!

A “walk date” is something people already in established relationships do. It’s not really a date, either. It’s just life! Same with “hanging out and watching a movie.” That’s something my fiancé and I do on weeknights to unwind after a busy day. While we very much enjoy that time together, it’s not a date. It’s life.

I’m not sure if men are suggesting these types of dates a) out of pure laziness and stinginess or b) because they want to rush into the “relationship feeling” and are too socially inept to realize you have to court a woman first if you want a relationship. Or perhaps a combination of both.

I've had two friends this summer go on "stargazing" dates where the guy got fast food at a drivethru, parked somewhere on a hill, and then they ate in the trunk to watch the stars.

Men are getting really creative with these "date ideas" and making it sound all romantic and shit like "let's have dinner under the stars." Hell no. I know there's not many options because of COVID, but that's just a car date with a pretty name.

LPT: Taking out the trash makes a great first date. If thing (lol) go well, you get to talk nonstop. If not, you can just focus on the trash without straining for conversation. Plus, the trash needed to be taken out anyway.
