Until fathers abusing their daughters is taken seriously instead of being a "oh good, it means she's slutty because of daddy issues" joke, I won't believe for a moment they actually care about improving attitudes around mental health.

Notice how it's never "men's mental health isn't taken seriously - I will share resources for men, and promote changing the narrative of toxic masculinity and that it is OK for men to ask for help"

Its always "men's mental health isn't taken seriously therefore we get a free pass to abuse and oppress women". It's BS, they don't actually care

I've been called an uncaring bitch because I don't give more of a shit about men's mental health issues than they do.

Like the guy all over a story about DV who was pissed about all of the resources for women when there are none for men. I pointed out that these things didn't just appear out of nowhere, and that woman had to fight long and hard for them. If he wanted them, he should get together with like-minded men and create them, because women had enough shit to do. And actually use them, instead of men telling other men that reaching out for help is "puzzy behavior".

He lost it at my "misandry".

They don't want a solution, they want to feel just as victimized as their victims so they can ride a pretend oppression train.

Yes, the men love to complain about having no support system yet failed to see a therapist or connect with friends. Men rather have shit buildup instead until they reach their breaking point. I have been with a man who thought "girlfriend was supposed to be the only support system for their boyfriends. "Like wtf, I am fine hearing people talk about their problems, male or female, but I cannot solve them or be the only one. Therapists are around for a reason men need to utilize it more. Also, guys need to stop associating "being a pussy" for opening up and instead promote mental health awareness(regardless of gender).

During the last conversation I had with an ex, he said he felt suicidal. I encouraged him to seek therapy. He told me he’d rather spend his money on electronics. Cool.

My husband literally today, after punching a hole in my bedroom door after I requested for the bajillionth time that we calmly discuss divvying up assets for our upcoming divorce. “I don’t have anyone to talk to!”

Me: “I would suggest you get in touch with a mental health care provider.” (He has a psychiatrist, previously had a counselor, spent several thousand dollars on mental health care last year.)

Him: “YOU ARE A MONSTER! I don’t NEED mental health care when YOU are the problem.”

Me: “Okay, cool, your choice.”

Him: “I don’t understand/I can’t go on/why won’t you work this out/blah blah”

Me: “I choose not to be with someone who, among other things, punches holes in doors. It is no longer my responsibility to help you understand. I would suggest you contact a mental health care provider.”

Him: “YOU are insane.”

I mean, 🤷‍♀️
The flip side to that being, all the mental healthcare in the world can’t help someone until they are ready to willingly put in the hard work. He spent thousands with no change; that’s not the therapist’s fault, it’s on him. But it’s so much easier to be the victim, rather than change his behavior, and it’s partially my fault for allowing that to continue. But I own my part in it and that’s why I’m ending it, but he “wahh, doesn’t understaaaaand.” Well, you haven’t been paying attention I guess. Not my problem anymore.

When I think back to every first date I had with men 99% of them told me their deepest darkest feelings, insecurities, worries and problems in past relationships without being asked. I'm sick of women being viewed as dumping grounds for their issues. We have enough on our plate when it comes to our own mental health.

Oh wait, I should be more specific because redditors literally circle jerk about this bullshit every other day.

None of the men I know irl are like this. They all have tons of friends and family, a variety of hobbies, and rewarding careers. These reddit losers do nothing but post on reddit, play video games, and jerk off and wonder why the world isn't handing them meaningful relationships and money. "No one cares about me," they whine while never doing anything to make anyone care about them. They want to be victims so badly that they even have the audacity to say that men have never been valued while women always have, despite the fact that the family name and inheritance was passed down through sons and daughters were considered a burden.

They do fuck all to help themselves and expect women and feminism to solve their problems and complain about shirts for little girls that say "Girl Power" and "The Future is Female" while ignoring the fact that for the longest time clothing for little girls said shit like ""Flirt" and other slogans totally inappropriate for children that reinforced the idea that our worth lies in our romantic relationships with men.

I could go on. I'm so sick of male victim mentality. I'm sick of them blaming it on the school system, on feminism, on literally everything but themselves.

Call me a callous bitch but I don't give a single fuck about men's problems. Grow the fuck up, go to therapy, unplug your Xbox until you've made at least one irl friend, and stop expecting women to solve your problems.

My ex said he couldn't do anything (for our daughter) after the divorce (which he initiated) because he was "clinically depressed". I asked him, "Did you see a clinician?" Nope. I suggested he should. He accused me of wanting him to just take a prescription and drug himself. No, I'm very pro-talk therapy, diet, exercise, anything that helps. Ten years later he killed himself by an overdose. Of prescription painkillers. Ugh. Sad and so very unnecessary. I will never understand this.

I once told an old guy friend that women should be treated as therapists and men should get therapy for their problems. He didn't agree and said that women should be supportive. We are not born to be a man's therapist. We are not responsible for their mental health. Everyone is responsible for their own mental health. Feeling sad is not an excuse to act out on others.

Me struggling between 100% agreeing with all of these but also feeling terrible about agreeing with them. Heck the logical equation of this is that men are the reason men have mental health issues. Time to stick them all in individual spaces so they don't get each other riled up I guess.
