Some parents are more aware or just more bothered than others about character merchandise which sexualizes girl children. Harley Quinn clothes and Bratz dolls for example. Good on the designers for this change.

I have never seen a boy dressed in or playing with merchandise that sexualizes boys.

Anything that makes them sad is wonderful. I always hated that over sexualized mess as a kid. It’s a cartoon for children. I was a little girl when space jam came out and all those grown men characters hitting on a teenage rabbit made me uncomfortable

What is wrong with these people?

Cartoons, especially ones aimed at boys (thanks CN) have done nothing but sexualize women and girls. Can we talk about how any women in some of these shows have their faces cropped out but their boobs and butt are on show? And most girls in those shows just wear crop tops and short shorts or skirts.

Even Nick did nothing but display women and girls as sexualized objects

No surprise. They got mad when Kim Possible, a teenager, got a live action actor that was... wait for it!!! ...a teenager. The horror. The audacity.

They got mad when the slim, small-chested Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman (and made excuse that she didn't look "strong" enough to play a superstrong woman. Like... the cartoon Wonder Woman was built like Jayne Mansfield and could throw a car and nobody complained. 70s Wonder Woman looked like a burlesque model with 0 muscle and nobody complained.)

The worst offender: they, and OF COURSE a bunch of libfems, were absolutely enraged when the new She-Ra had a little muscle with other characters that had really diverse body types. They insisted She-ra "wasn't allowed to be girly anymore" as if Perfuma, Angella, Glimmer, Spinnerella, and Scorpia aren't fully feminine. They pretended She-ra looks masculine just because she's 8 feet tall and athletic, like flowing golden hair and a skirt particularly scream "macho".

Losers just FLIP out when characters they had some weird sexual awakening by get a makeover and look like normal women you'd see on the street. It doesn't matter if the design is actually a lot cooler looking, or the character's personality is the same, it's like all rationality is lost when they're forced to not sexualize a cartoon crush for 5 minutes.Never mind that 90s Lola just existed for Bugs to be attracted to and to be a two dimensional Cool Girl and she might actually have more personality now.
