If/when you get permission to add new moderators I'd like to volunteer! I've never been a moderator before but I'm fairly active on Reddit (and several gender based politics subreddits).

I think one of the issues is the sub has grown a lot faster than I and I assume other original members were expecting in addition to people being busier in RL due to Corona.

I really hope this sub can be more centered. When this sub was first created I was hopeful that it would provide a great middle ground between the MRA and MensLib sub. A sub that didn't blindly blame feminism for everything wrong and littered with posts calling Feminism out and a bunch of circle jerking. Yet not a place for men to ask for forgiveness for simply being men and blaming men for all the ills of the world and they should feel privileged just to be able to speak (and wear nail polish if they want to).

So it was disappointing to see such a hard and fast turn this sub took. While I used to look forward to seeing what kind of discussions could take place it quickly dissolved and now I rarely check it out.

Sounds like a lot of the mod team actually has a life. I know you posted this to ask for support, but honestly, I'm glad the mods are spread thin because it shows you have an active life outside of Reddit. Some mods spend WAY too much time on Reddit, and it might not be the case here.

Do you have any specific users in mind to help moderate the sub?

Burnout happens, and people leave. So I think this is a normal process that will maybe happen a few times before the community grows large enough to sustain itself without problems. I am sorry that I can't spare time to be a mod myself right now, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for you, u/Forgetaboutthelonely.

Make the admin account communist. Ask the owner to change the password and just give it to you, then restart the sub.

Also, what made the admin give up? I believe I had a few chats with them in the past (unless that was another mod).

I'd offer to help moderate if you get control but frankly I'm not that interested in being attached to Reddit. I've already been using other sites periodically due to censorship here, and mostly stick around for some specific tech and gaming subs, stupidpol, this place, and a handful of others.

Wow I'm suprised how small this sub is actually. My comment history only goes so far back, so I don't know how much earlier than January I've been participating here. We were at <1000 users in January, and are under 2000 now For some reason I thought we had like 10k+ subs.

I agree, I think this sub has a lot of potential, but we need some organization with regards to what sort of post go up, and we need have so more constructive discussion regarding the issues we face. A lot of male oriented subs get categorized as right-wing, but we get some unique hate because we are not right-wing, but the idea of supporting male issues, or criticizing feminism, seems pretty foreign to the left. I understand the emotion behind some of those rage posts, but that sort of behavior makes us sound like those we're criticize. I think some general rules regarding discussion, and on a tangent I also think having some resources for the sub like how to argue, scientific literacy, logical fallacies; tools to help us discuss the movements and policies affecting men rather than a bunch of us just pitching personal experience and working ourselves up.

I think a lot of us see and face issues that we don't often get the chance to talk about, at least not always publicly, but I don't think this is the place to vent. This could be a place where we actually have discourse and learn how we can take action to improve these issues, and to do that we need learn how to debate the issues and form sound arguments and have a back-and-forth discussion.

Of course, that sort of thing is not all your responsibility, so if you're able to get things started, I would love to help build this into an active, healthy sub.

I thought, in general, quite good things happening were on the sub lately. I don't see at all it is not 'left-wing' enough, as I stated before: men's issues aren't simply things you can combine with other political points just like that. It is already very good they're not automatically combined with being right-wing here. Neither do I see any 'reactionary' posts as I see suggested in other reactions. So I hope that, legitimate as this post is, it will not work as some Pandora's box, bringing plagues over this sub and changing it unrecognizably in an unpleasant way.
