I've always taken issue with this. I've got respect for good men and women alike, who both deserve to be treated with respect and earned it. Which is just it, respect is always earned, never given. Yet for decades it's been the feminist narrative to always respect women just for being women, and never anything about also having respect for men. Nobody is ever entitled to respect based solely on something like gender. I've known so many terrible, unrespectable women in my time who deserve anything but respect, and I neither hate nor respect them because of their gender but because they're terrible people.

You mean to tell me a woman like Amber Heard deserves respect? What about the likes of Ann Coulter, Tomi Lahren, Kaitlin Bennett, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Greene, etc. and all of the crazy feminist "activists" like Charlotte Proudman and Jessica Taylor (just typing these names is making me cringe). Let's not forget the utterly delusional and insane Emrazz (the Feminist Next Door) on Twitter. I have less than zero respect for these people, who have nothing good or redeemable about them at all and the last thing any of them deserve is to be treated or regarded with respect.

The whole notion of respect women is BS to me. I believe good people deserve to be treated with respect, men and women alike, and I've known many men and women who are good, kind and respectable, and earned the right to be treated as such. Respecting someone just for the demographic they belong to is ridiculous to me. We never hear anything about also having respect for men and boys, which further sends a terrible message to both boys and girls; the former feel like they're worthless and not deserving of being treated right, and with the latter it instills a sense of superiority and entitlement. Plus what message are you sending to both to automatically respect someone just for something like gender, that they're automatically good and trustworthy because of that? I've actually seen "trust women" as a slogan and that to me is beyond asinine. A lot of bad, predatory women exist just like men, and yet the notion it's only men who are to be regarded with fear and distrust is still heavily enforced. Arguably this way of thinking has actually made it easier for bad women to get away with their crimes and go unpunished, and can leave people (particularly children) more vulnerable to predatory women.

I also think this could another reason why incidents of female on male crimes tend to be vastly underreported, particularly when the victim is a boy. They likely think because women should always be respected and trusted, that if a woman did something bad to him he either deserved it or the woman was somehow justified in doing it, and to report her is to disrespect her. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility to think this has been the case with some victims of FOM crimes. A young, vulnerable boy who's been bombarded with the "respect/trust women" rhetoric that's so widespread and ingrained into the public conscience who falls victim to a bad woman won't view himself as such and will think the woman is somehow not guilty of doing anything wrong to him.

Respect is always earned, never given, and both good men and women alike deserve respect. I have respect for those who've earned it. Women shouldn't be respected just for their gender and the same goes for men. Respect good, kind people all across the board, and there's plenty of men and women who don't fall under either.
