I disagree with Tim's sort-of-conclusion (this being an issue of the samaritans getting punished).
If it is only down to potential legal repercussions, why is this phenomenon pretty much unique to the anglosphere? European nations have harsher laws regarding self-defense than even the US states who don't honor the castle doctrine (forget the UK, they're completely fucking crazy at this point) and still you see white knights galore. On the other hand, there are thousands of dads who've gone to prison for defending or avenging their loved ones.
I don't think it's purely a legal matter but a combination of that and the changing structure of society. If you're constantly told that you're obsolete, useless, dangerous, predatorial etc. and are generally regarded as a hindrance and second class citizen (WAHMYN FIRST!!!) not due to your own failures but simply because you were born with the wrong skin color and a dick between your legs... Yeah fuck that, I would let that society burn as well. Southeast Asia is Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc. Asians usually mean any Asian except West Asians (the Middle East) outside the UK, e.g. in the US or Australia. The UK seems to use Asian to exclusively mean West/Central/South Asians, but not East or Southeast Asians (which are probably described by their nationality.) Y'know, I'm not silly enough to say that I'd gallantly save the lady or anything like that. Honestly, that was not my point at all - I agree with your overall perspective of it not being quite so simple. I may have sounded like an internet tough guy, but that's only because I didn't bother to write a lot. I'm not at all saying I'd act differently than those two guys - truth is, I don't know for sure.
What I actually disapprove of is the fact that this is posted here and the comments on it. As a whole, this post seems to be saying "LOL, a woman got beaten up and is complaining". What I was trying to say is that you should be sympathetic of anyone in that situation, man or woman - that is equality I want to see.
Instead, you seem to prefer some strange, depressing version of equality. A man got hit in public with nobody interfering, so clearly we should be happy when the same happens to a woman. That mindset seems extremely toxic to me.

Men and women, different races, different cultures, different social backgrounds all result in very different people. None are truly, fully equal. This is obvious.
That doesn't mean that we can't strive for a fair treatment for all of those different categories of people - and, in fact, if you have a shred of empathy, I don't see why you wouldn't want to.
Now, what is fair and isn't is a matter for a long debate in and of itself. But do you not want to be treated fairly yourself, whatever your definition of that is? And if so, is it so hard to extend the same courtesy to others?

The MRM worked on this "equality" thing for many decades, but they achieved nothing. Reality doesnt care about your ideals, your dreams or your empathy. Women are born with the instinct to manipulate their social environment to acquire resources and social status. Most women are born with medicore to strong narcissistic sociopathic traits, ideal traits to manipulate any social environment.

Yes, people are. And not just because they're asshole that enjoy seeing other people suffering. But because experimenting something is often the most effective way to get how it works.
It's not about equality, and if you think that I linked this because of it you don't get it at all, and by the way equality by itself is worthless if it doesn't bring a good result, no matter what "equality" it is about; it just turns out that equality often have positive long-term consequences,but it isn't a good thing by itself. Also it wouldn't be a "twisted version of equality". It's just the only way to be "equal" available to men right now since these princesses are too entitled to question themselves and change their behaviour.
Life is a giant game, and it just shows women that if they remove men's bargaining chips, then they will not play their own role in this game neither. (sure, it will be "men are useless and don't do x" at first, but if it happens enough time they will get the message eventually). That's the point. Not some idiot no one care about's suffering.
Note the "As fathers, husbands and sons they should be ashamed of themselves.". She is enforcing gender roles. People don't bring the gender of the person in the conversation here out of nowhere. She didn't say they were pitiful HUMANS. She said they were pitiful MALE. That is the point.
I'm not naïve enough to think that this will make a difference, but it's a step in the right direction. Pitying her, woman or not, while she express the idea that as a male we SHOULD keep playing our"role" and should have protected her ass without any real reason just lead to even more entitlement.
A ton of people here don't enjoy seeing other people suffering. However, the hypocrisy of wanting to get rid of "gender roles" but still wanting the advantages of "FATHERS, HUSBANDS AND SONS!!" is delicious, not because of the pain, but because of karma when it happens. I'd say the same thing if this came from a white knight, a man identifying as a woman or whatever else tumblr could come up with and I'm sure most people here would too.

Yes, there is a certain schadenfreude in the poetic justice of an SJW feminist not being helped by two "middle-class white men" when she needs it, and then complaining about it using TradCon terms. The level of entitlement, hypocrisy, misandry, classicism, and racism is breath-taking.
However, the main take-away from the posts here is: don't stick your neck out for strangers. There are myriad social, medical, and legal reasons for this. Unless you're a LEO, it's not your job nor your duty to defend strangers.
She wasn’t ‘beaten up’. No injuries, no hospital stay. And she started the whole sex and race discussion with her hate-filled racist and sexist condemnations.
This is the equality they asked for. This is how men are treated every day. We didn't ask for equality to be treated like women. Women asked for equality to be treated like men. And they did it by blaming men for not doing it for them. So, welcome to equality. Not some strange twisted version, but the world men live in every day. If they are husbands, fathers and sons like she herself describes, why should they risk their lives to protect her? If they get injured or killed or even arrested and prosecuted for saving her, their families and children have to suffer the consequences. If those men were in their situation, would she do the same? Heck, if they died defending her would she even bother to go to the funeral? After all, she's not obligated to so she doesn't have to bother. Just like they don't have to bother saving her at their own peril.
